.
pft just give us a couple more years we'll have huge ass spaceship to go into space at light speed.
Then we'll all become fat like the people in wall-e (half of america already is)
ikr... sucks. The Signor-Lipps effect tends to skew our ability to accurately chronicle mass extinction events, but I prefer to imagine them happening on a geological time scale and not within a range of mere hundreds or thousands of years. Still though, this one seems to have begun around the year 1500 CE and only really kicked into high gear about 200 years ago. That's terrifying. Likely caused by climate change and loss of habitat, human beings being the driving force behind both.
Our children are so fucked.
Yet another prediction about our doom that isn't gonna happen
Species go extinct all the time. This isn't anything new.
Some species don't go extinct because of us. Sometimes they're just really shitty species that don't deserve to continue living. If a few species start dying more often, then it just means species are dying more often. There's nothing significant about that.
Jah Bless.......
Also this isn't like breaking news or anything. This shit's real guys.
Well not everyone gets the warning I guess!

You realize the worlds brightest and best scientists once believed that nothing could go faster than the speed of sound, and had actual data to back it up right?

Incorrect. The sound barrier has been humanity's bitch since the invention of the bullwhip.

That doesn't disprove what I said. Scientists really did believe that nothing could go faster than the speed of sound.
Scientists currently think that nothing can go faster than the speed of light, and I highly disagree due to the fact that we know as much about space now as we did about physics a couple centuries ago.

Who? Which scientists ever thought of the speed of sound as a limit that was an immutable law of physics? There were numerous problems breaching the sound barrier with man made aircraft in the 1950's, but those were problems of engineering not problems of physics.

Entirely plausible that we'll one day find a way around the speed of light, but it is a problem of physics, not engineering.

Well, both actually.

It's a generalization of periodical scientific beliefs. Just like the brightest and best scientists once believed the world was flat, and just like people thought a person would die if they rode a train because the human body couldn't handle that kind of speed.
The overall point is that scientific beliefs have been horrendously wrong all throughout history, due to the human illusion of knowledge, and the reality of lacking a massive amount of knowledge.
Humans aren't doomed.

Gotcha.
Just like the brightest and best scientists once believed the world was flat,
No, they didn't. Maybe the common people did but it's a basic fact for most of human history that scientists knew the world is round, you can just prove this yourself by going on a high elevation and watch the world curve
Humans aren't doomed.
They might be if China or people like Sarah Palin keep up their activities.

Dude, I'm the biggest supporter of science on all of newgrounds, second only to probably someone like miles. I specifically hate religion because science exists.
That said, science hasn't always been precise, and comparing me, a science worshiping atheist, to a science hating christian, is the most inaccurate thing in the history of mankind. My point is that the best scientists in the world have been dreadfully wrong a lot throughout history, that is a fact, me pointing it out has nothing to do with how much I like or dislike science. And I absolutely love it, I base 99% of my beliefs on science.
My bad man, maybe I got a little carried away there. I do like you xenomit, don't take it personally.
What do you call it when an exceedingly obese man dies?
See: Thread Title.
If you use "salty" for anything other than salinity, I will instantly think less of you.

S'all good. Don't blame yourself, I'm the worst on all of newgrounds when it comes to arguing with anyone who ever disagrees with me. I've gotta stop that.
Probably wont though, creatures of habit and what have you
If you believe in the idea that corporations have had their hand in science's pocket since Darwin sold his books about meaningless bullshit we can't actually use (besides having "intellectual conversations" with the subjects he wrote about), the idea is probably prose to the cunning man's ear: this article "warns" about it because it is trying to create nature freaks to help spawn all this pointless fauna that gets wiped out as time goes on.
What this article is totally lacking in is the mention of bees. Go ahead and hit CTRL+F and look for "honey bee." Posted a year ago on the Bluffington Compost, you can read about honeybees "on the verge of extinction." Honey is a crucial environmental food. It's crucial for us and honeybees are one part in the pollination of flowers and other things that keep the soil from growing weak and sterile, though I'm sure NG knows this because they spend PLENTY of time outside understanding nature.
Article summary:
"A few days ago I called up a beekeeper inviting him to an environmental conference planned for June 2015. He declined because, he said, there would be no honeybees left in another year or two.
I was stunned. I asked him to explain.
"Scientific evidence mounts almost daily confirming the decades-long observations of beekeepers that pesticides are playing a major role in the dramatic decline of honeybees and other pollinators," he said to me.
"Singled out for special condemnation is the neonicotinoid family of pesticides, systemic neurotoxins which are the companion technology of genetically modified crops and which have contaminated hundreds of millions of acres. Characterized by some as 'The Plutonium of Pesticides,' they are pervasive and pernicious; persistent in the environment with half lives of years."
Couple the loss of honeybees with GMO based crops, a gradually weakening, slowly eroding soil due to non-enriched land, poisoned insects and nature, growing instability in economics and worldwide relations... and you're bound to see the forefront of total apocalypse in the making.

Ok, if Profanity isn't going to pop out and do this I will.
You know what I love about this guy? love how he strings together big words in an attempt to look like he knows what he's talking about when he obviously doesn't. I love how he's obviously reciting his conspiracy theory script. Gay marriage? Taxes! Climate change? Bees! Are these things related? Perhaps tenuously, but the point is to steer the conversation into his comfort zone so he can throw his agenda in your face.
Listen to much conservative radio? Don't worry, nobody can tell. Yeah, we're the ones drinking the corporate kool aide. The corporations that are poisoning the environment are the ones who are pushing the environmental agenda so they can trick you into planting "useless fauna", because the shrubbery industry is the true puppet master behind our shadow government.
Oh, and the best part was the newgrounders don't go outside bit. Go back to drooling over SubliminalVirus like she's the first human female you've ever seen. Remember when you said "You and I put the U and I in suicide" to her? God that was funny.

lol, he didn't even use any big words. A big word is something like zeugmatography or sesquipedality. All he did was use a varied vocabulary, something a lot of people seem to be lacking these days when "Cunning" and "Intellectual" are considered to be big words.

"String big words." I lavishly recite deceitful, distasteful vocabulary as vernacular aesthetic; your incompetent, inane ridicule is rambunctious like arthropods overpowered by humiliating shoe stomps.
Rectify your reasoning, knave.

These kinds of people that somehow stalk a viewpoint out of another thread are exactly the kinds of people that don't know how to actually understand that topics are generally unrelated yet somehow "related" my rant on the idea of 'United States v. Windsor' (which is actually a very big deal, mentioned largely on many news outlets and obviously acknowledged by the Justice department considering it was ACTUALLY A CASE IN THE SUPREME COURT). Comfort zone? Dude, I follow the "voluntary human extinction movement." That's certainly 'nutcase' but not 'tinfoil' hat, it's more like "resources are depleted unless we take it upon ourselves to save or destroy humanity."
Let's continue ripping your trite reasoning to shreds.

I have no idea what part of your post you are going off on. Liberal agendas are dedicated to driving global warming, cooling, and anything environmental down our throats in order to subjugate the green party as part of the democratic party. The Republican party tries to tie all "nice" religions together and tries to really force that old white "traditional" family on everyone. No one wins and there's a shadow hand run by corporations. That's just not a secret, that's an established fact and money is basically what helped get us to this point of mass extinction in the first place.
I can totally go into detail on this reasoning, but it all correlates to rapid expansion and what happens when things are built far too quickly - it has a higher risk to destabilize and fall apart. THINK ABOUT IT.
Oh, and the best part was the newgrounders don't go outside bit. Go back to drooling over SubliminalVirus like she's the first human female you've ever seen. Remember when you said "You and I put the U and I in suicide" to her? God that was funny.
AH yes, the personal interference card. Tell me my friend, if I stalked your posts and who you liked to talk to or responded to and made them to be a reason to refute your ideas in your posts, would that really be mature? Would that even be remotely intelligent?
Sir I'll ask you kindly.

God, you people are all the same. Everything is related. The Hindenburg was brought down by FDR to ensure that Pearl Harbor would habituate Americans to false flag attacks and pave the way for 9/11. The puppet master's strings are only visible to geniuses like you, and the rest of us are sheeple. Life is a Dan Brown novel and you're the protagonist.

You just say things. You provide no context whatsoever. It's like you expect everyone else to have already run headfirst into a brick wall like you must have. I have to try to put myself in your warped shoes like an FBI criminal profiler would in order to understand this bollocks.
What is your stance? Is "global warming" real or not to you now? You go about rallying against climate change as a myth, but now the green party is being subjugated by the democrats? If climate change is a myth then what purpose does this subjugation serve?
Why the aside about republicans and religion and race? Why are you always so off topic? Why does your mind work like a broken pinball machine? Oh yeah, because you don't know what you're talking about. You're projecting an illusion of knowledgeability.

Before I jump back to getting on track in the thread, I want people to know that flame wars aren't really my style. We're pretty much here to have a discussion than hate on a person because of what their beliefs are, right? If it ain't hurting people then laugh, don't be like this guy and try to LAUGH AT somebody just for sort of acting off the path less traveled. Usually someone has an interesting point to make when that happens, this dude kind of acts like the idea of a major part of our ecosystem is no big deal or "it's conspiracy." Really, LSP? It's all really conspiracy, huh?

Once again this illustrates a responder going off-topic. I know what your objective is, I've seen people try to really argue against a differing thought/opinion. It just sounds like you want to paint me as someone that really thinks The Black Hand still operates on a global level and that Hamas and ISIS aren't byproducts of a conquest to control the world's resources because somebody's "saving us." Look dude, if you're not aware of it already not everybody is dedicated to helping you out, and advancing our civilization. That doesn't mean everything is related to a shadow operation as an interpretation of Kubla Khan, it just is the reality of what happens when one person or a group just wants it all.
You know what, I'll let that all sink in because "Mass Extinction" is all correlated to what I just mentioned, it's people like you that have to try to make sport of other people since you don't want to listen, just fight.
Do you know that you're insane? I mean, you admit that you're a nutcase, have you been diagnosed yet? This is your third convoluted rant in an hour. Get back on your meds you poor sick man.
Nothing but a personal attack. Will I PM a moderator? No, but join us next time on Voltage Rant Z.

You talk about me "stringing big words," yet you can't understand what my post was about 'cause it's got you all riled up throwing as much gas on this fire as you can to try to clarify something. If I remember correctly, context means the forming of a subject for understanding. While I threw in my 2 cents and added a bit extra to it, I basically was discussing honey bees. Honey bees are part of our ecology that, like many ecological resources, we took advantage of. This ultimately would have a devastating effect in general to a lot of stuff. And it's not a conspiracy, go look for raw honey at the supermarket or your local organic store. The price raises between 40 cents and a dollar yearly for what - like 8 ounces of honey?
You are extremely in the unknow (it's glaring), but I'm not trying to pick on you for not understanding this. I became very studious about raw honey when I was in my early 20s because I was looking into solutions to eat something sweet that wasn't heavy in sugar, salts, or calories. I found that, did my research on it, and I have found that raw honey is a commodity that's practically becoming the caviar of insects. But you probably don't know because it's not a highly discussed topic. You do not need to berate me for this discussion, especially because you have no ground to stand on or counter-evidence - just flame responses like an actual conspiracy theorist toolbag.
What is your stance? Is "global warming" real or not to you now? You go about rallying against climate change as a myth, but now the green party is being subjugated by the democrats? If climate change is a myth then what purpose does this subjugation serve?
I believe I mentioned "Republicans" in there.
Why the aside about republicans and religion and race?
touche, SeanWallKrumpington.
Why are you always so off topic? Why does your mind work like a broken pinball machine? Oh yeah, because you don't know what you're talking about.
I would love to keep bringing this up - you adamantly attacked me in this thread and made personal calls about what I say to other users, and other stuff from other threads - dude, I'm at least trying to remain in the topic with something I have to say. I'm not trying to pick people's posts apart but unfortunately you are reluctant to have an "intellectual discussion" without ever picking up the subjects I mentioned or (like previously mentioned) forming counter arguments with your own evidence. You are trying to pick a fight. I don't think YOU know what you're talking about, if you did you would have gone back to my original post earlier and made a sound argument.
You know, like a normal person. Not some dimwit idiot with a broken brain that thinks they know how to talk to forums and have any semblance of an intellectual argument.
Am I speaking out of context again? Whoops!
Okay, let's finish this one.
Take another bong rip dumbass.
