I also don't like it, because everyone should be treated equally. And even if I was not white, I'd still not like - I'd be to embarassed and offended, because by accepting affirmitive action you're pretty much agreeing that you need help and you can't make it on your own. You're accepting your weakness. And if I was at all proud of my race and heritage, there's no way in hell I'd go for that.

Affirmative action is a cop-out the true problem, which is the fact that some schools aren't at the level of other schools. Our education system is being "fixed" by ignoring the fact that the schools need money, instead changing the numbers of minorities getting into college, to say that progress has occured, when in fact many aren't ready, due to the education system.

I'd also like to say that this is the same way I feel about standardized testing, in particular Massachusetts' MCAS test, where anyone who fails it can't graduate high school. Instead of fixing the school, they're just taking a Darwinian approach to the system, forcing their way upon the inner-city schools.

I agree! Here in florida schools are awarded cash by the state if they get AP Test applicants. So what ends up happening, is the rich kids who can afford to go to schools with AP programs get rewarded by having useless junk like computers that are never used, or classroom T.V.s to watch a video program once a week, while most schools can't afford books. Esepcailly ESE, where most classes don't even have the money for paper, pens etc...

I think that to wipe out any risk of racism they should wipe out the race that you have to write down so that there is no chance of racism and we are choosing based on qualifications and not race. And agains while I'm on a good mood I'd like to apologize to anyone that I have offended. This includes but is not limited to GameboyCC, Anarchypenguin, Slizor and any other person I have offended.

Exactly, usually Laser Beam Bandit is the one who nobody agrees with. This is pretty much a topic where most people are against... it sorta' struck me the "Oh my God!!! We're all gonna die!!!" way...
