I'd politely say no thank you. I don't really like anybody walking door to door preaching their beliefs, even if I agree with them.

I'd point out that they are kind of acting like dicks and shouldn't lower themselves to such standards. People tend to turn atheist as it is these days and trying to jump up and down on the shark isn't going to do anything to rush it, if anything it would just make religious people whine about "oh you are trying to corrupt us" blah blah blah and make newspapers go crazy and start publishing how atheists caused 9/11 and are double hitler and killed jesus.

What would you have said if some Atheists came to your door to discuss evolution and non belief in God
I'd tell them that I already know that religion is bullshit and we'd laugh and they'd leave happy.

Jehovas witnesses go door to door telling people a bullshit story and trying their very hardest to get the people to believe in their bullshit story.
Atheists going door to door are, rather than getting people to believe a bullshit story, telling people that religion is bullshit, and making sure to remind them to not be dumb and use logic, common sense, rationality, and critical thinking.

I don't know about other atheists, but I personally hate any religion that tells people to do bullshit for an obviously bullshit reason. Catholicism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, all of those are poison to human intellect. Religions like buddhism that tell people to relax, be at peace, leave others alone, and just enjoy life in general are perfectly fine with me. If I were going to denounce all logic and follow a religion, it'd definitely be buddhism.

I remember that video.
It kind of pisses me off that people are so militantly against missionaries. If you don't want them to come around any more, just tell them you're not interested. They won't come back. I grew up with this exact same church, folks. These 18 year-olds aren't out there to fuck you. They're out there to share a message. If you don't want to hear it, tell them to leave.
These fuckers make themselves sound soooooooo oppressed having to answer their door and talk to a couple guys in white shirts and ties. These guys are antisocial pussies, man. Just be a decent person and give the missionaries a chance. And if you aren't interested, tell them to leave.
Jah Bless.......

Tell them to wait around just a little bit longer. Then when the door-to-door religious people arrive, sick the door-to-door atheists against the door-to-door religious people and they can have one big fun time arguing back and forth right in your doorway. Grab the popcorn.

This would never happen because Atheists already know how annoying it is when people try to convince you to believe the same thing as them.

I wouldn't say never. It could be a thing. Keep in mind there are different kinds of Atheists.
Normal Atheist: Just goes about their day as per usual. Acts like a normal person. Doesn't go out of their way to declare their Atheism.
Militant Atheist: Adopts Atheism as a kind of badge of honor. Goes around "challenging" religious people. Usually has some sort of activist Youtube channel. Makes a big deal out of being Atheist.
I could see a militant Atheist doing something like this even though it'd be completely hypocritical and have potential to backfire badly. But I could definitely see someone trying it.

I like both. I couldn't even see a militant atheist doing that though. Going door to door to tell people to stop believing in god? Not even obnoxious religious people do crap like that, unless they are Jehovah's Witnesses.
The militants only 'challenge' the religious douche fags because they are being preachy or obnoxious in the first place. They don't lure you in to challenge you or any fucked up shit those bible thumpers do.
But I could be biased. Clearly I really hate people being all up into someone else's beliefs and have had enough of that.

I've never been unfortunate enough to be visited by a Jehovah's Witness. I remember how my brother went to Salt Lake City and said that while the Mormons there were really nice, they kept trying to convert him. Then again, he did go on their own turf, hee hee.

I will have to say door-to-door religious people are less of a nuisance than door-to-door couch surfers.
And if you're not sure as to what a door-to-door couch surfer is, it's a person who knocks on your door and then when you answer they give you a story and they want to stay at your place for a time. Presumably they continue in this manner until someone decides to let them stay.
Now, if it's a friend or someone you know? That might be okay depending on circumstances. But a complete stranger? Not a good idea.

Militant atheist is not much different from the Tumblr feminist. They put us all atheists to shame. Right, I would defend my point of view if I was being attacked, a Christian or a Muslim would do the same.

Yeah that's the difference, I think.
Normal Atheist = defends views when attacked.
Militant Atheist = pre-emptively "challenges" any religious people to try to provoke them.
Pushy Street Preacher: "You're going to hell!"
Normal Atheist: "Okay. Kind of hard to go to a place that doesn't exist though."
Militant Atheist: "Excuse me sir."
Street Man: "Yes?"
Militant Atheist: "Are you a Christian?"
Street Man: "Yes."
Militant Atheist: "Don't you know that's stupid?"
I guess depends on who is pushing what onto whom.
