People have different genes because we have spent anywhere from tens of thousands to millions of years living in distinctly separate populations.

Races have fascinating differences and similarities. Most people think that blond hair is unique to white europeans, but there is actually a group of dark skinned Solomon Islanders with it. Japanese and some other East Asian people have fewer aprocrine sweat glands, making their body odor less pungent. There is more genetic diversity within the colloquial "African race" than in any other group of people.

Well, it makes some sense because all people are evolved from monkeys. Still, America was stupid back then. They let anyone who is white make fun of any other race because they didn't get the memo of white supremacy being racist.

I personally love racial differences. I'm so not racist that some of my immediate wishes seem a little racist. For example, I wish humanity wasn't heading towards everyone becoming a single race. I want there to still be asians and blacks and whites, not one race of brown people with black hair, it makes for a more interesting world.

We didn't evolve from monkeys. We are apes. We are all bipedal apes who only just left Africa between 50,000 to 100,000 years ago. Although we have considerable genetic variation relative to such a young species, about 85 percent of human genetic variation exists within human populations, and only about 15 percent between them. Furthermore, genetic variation around the world is distributed in a rather continuous manner; there are no sharp, discontinuous boundaries between human population groups.

Our racial differences are largely superficial. According to PBS, there's more genetic diversity within a group of chimps on a single hillside in Gomba than in the entire human species. Not sure if that's true, but it's a comforting thought.

We accept you get different "breeds" of the same kind of animal, the breeds having more common features with the same breed but obviously they can still breed with one another. Maybe race is a bit like that? Although, I don't know if theres any evidence of early man spending large amounts of time in areas secluded from the rest to consolidate these features into a more defined race.

Aren't there different breeds of cow? I thought they came about naturally, whereas horse, cat and dog were pretty much heavily influenced by human interference.

Honestly I wish people would stop discriminating based on race and just treat people as people. And none of this "reverse-discrimination" either. That's just discrimination under a different name.

Although different races do have their advantages and disadvantages, but I don't think there's any one race that is just "master race" or such. For example, if you're white, you're less likely to have sickle-cell but if you're black you're less likely to get sunburned, and so forth.

Just as "mutt" dogs are often healthier than "purebreds" I also think mixed-race people can potentially have health benefits.

Yeah but mutts are all ugly and boring, and they all look the same, do you really want every human to be the same race hundreds of years in the future regardless of minor health benefits? We can use technology to overcome health problems, we can't use technology to make the population look more interesting.

Can you honestly say it'd be better if everyone looked like this rather than there being asians and indians and spaniards and white people and all those other fun races?

Regardless of whether admixture occurred (there's plentiful evidence that it did) it still doesn't render the breed analogy any more accurate of a description of recent human evolution.
