Best Op/ed Sequences 2014-07-23 16:34:36 Reply

And no, I don't just mean the song, I mean taking the visuals into account, too. What would be your top ten or top five opening/ending sequences of any TV show, movie, etc.? Basically, it's not just anime, even though all mine are. Also, a little discussion as to why you picked some of these would be nice; for example, the Nichijou OP's are pretty over the top, especially visually.

10. Neon Genesis Evangelion
9. I don't give two fucks what anyone thinks of it, but I liked the season 1 OP for SAO; it's just a shame that the series didn't live up to the potential it had. Also, I can't find a non-english version of the OP on YouTube, so here's the LiSA video for it.
8. Mirai Nikki Season 2 OP
7. Mirai Nikki Season 2 ED
6. Nichijou Season 2 OP
5. Mirai Nikki Season 1 OP
4. A tie between the season 2 OP's for K-On!
Not the actual OP sequence, but close enough (I couldn't find it on YouTube)
The last K-On! OP
3. Nichijou Season 1 OP
2. Madoka Magica: Rebellion OP (audio was muted on this one, and I'm too lazy to find a link to it - the song is Colorful by ClariS)
1. Black Cat Season 1 OP

What, no love for "Guren no Yumiya" or "Sorairo Days"? I'm disappointed with all of you.

As for ED sequences, I usually don't pay much attention to them, but I did enjoy the ED's from FMA: Brotherhood and Fate/Zero.

Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

I don't know it by 'e.t.c.' you mean including all media or only "watched" stuff, but either way my favorite opening sequence ever is from Borderlands 2, the song is awesome and the cinematography combined with the events is just so damn cool.

It stops getting boring around 1:00, when a train hits the bandits.

There is no "music forum". There is an audio forum, and I guess you haven't read what it says it's for because this thread isn't suited for it.

Honestly, I find that most of the anime I've seen has opening title and closing credit music that's either awful or just not worth mentioning. I think I covered most of the rare exceptions at least within what I've heard myself. Really, I fucking hate the typical J pop shit and the like.
