I'd like to leave in the next 5 years, and I've put some thought into England, and possibly Japan. I'm currently in college, and I need a place where I can teach music, any suggestions? I'm only on my 2nd year of school and was considering study abroad.
tl;dr I'm a music teacher, what country should I live in?

sure, london would love to watch you starve as you forget what freedom is while the electric eyes watch you.
do yourself a favor, let your rights get taken away. suggestions like england or japan make it so you think there's an exotic place you can go where you have some sort of "freedom" when you really don't. your only routes of action are live off the grid, or live in a place like new zealand or maybe netherlands (though not being able to speak dutch means you cannot be a citizen, i believe)

Finland, or Sweden. They're pretty socialist democratic countries so no worry about rights being robbed away. Finland values teaching professions very much. If you're very serious about the teaching job, I could guide you through most of the processes and probably paper works. Immigration in Sweden is a bit more loose than other Nordic countries.
finally someone on here who thinks usa is a shit country.

I heard there's currently plently of free living space in Ukraine.
I hear Estonia is a very prosperous country. The other countries mentioned above are mostly well-off too.
Are you disgusted by american culture or by human culture?

please explain some of the details, I believe prior to becoming involved in any serious criminal activity your rights are about the same in both countries, except it has been my experience that American cops are pretty corrupt for a developed country.

I'm actually very serious about teaching, do you know a way I could get a feel for some differences in daily lives of Americans vs Sweden/Finland?

Same here bro. I want to move to Italy or Germany.
I have to do more research though to make sure I'm not moving somewhere worse though.

Me too, consider your work, and how long you'd like to wait to move, balance your patience with the amount of money you'd like to have upon your departure, also if you don't mind accumulating a lot of debt, consider studying abroad.
Why would you want to move to the UK? Why? Why? Why!?!?!
The UK makes American surveillance look small-time.
It's like you specifically hand-picked one of the worst European countries to want to move to.
Japan? Not a terrible choice. Respectable. But the UK? You haven't done your research at all have you?

Life around there are quite relaxing compared to North America countries. Sweden is somewhat both multicultural and melting pot's way of life. Life in Finland is more slow than United States, to be honest, from my experience.
There's maybe a problem with language study as most Latin-languages' speaker such as English, French and Spanish tend to find Finnish difficult to learn. Although, people around these parts, especially Swedes speak English as their 2nd language. If you start early to learn it.
Start reading this. Immigration. If you want to ask board or specific questions, go to this forum, I hang out over there often.
I'll tell you more over PM.

Relocating out of spite seems like one of the worst reasons to move to another country. It seems like you would just be setting yourself up for disappointment. No matter where you live there are going to be aspects of the culture that you won't like. If you can't cope with it one place why would you be able to in another?

I'd say I'm more relocating in response to changes I've been watching move in the same direction all of my life. True I didn't really look into how the government spies on people, more so the rights of the police and nations who welcome immigrants.
I feel like I would rather be in Canada. Australia would probably be pretty cool, too. I don't know.
I only stay here because I want to be near family, but I don't feel like I belong with the rest of these Americans.
The sig that I'm wearin? Awesomely made by Skaren!
Also, I like annoying Americans by calling English football "real football" and American football "rugby".-Lost-Chances

Fair enough. If you're not happy where you are and you think things are just going to get worse it's probably a smart move.

If I was you I'd put a lot of time and thought into it. Do lots of research and map out a solid game plan and all. Best of luck.

to be honest, as a citizen of the UK, the electric eyes really aren't a bother- they don't have them inside our homes, and our government isn't constantly trying to censor the internet, and while we are watched, we're still free in the sense that we can talk and do what we want within the confines of the law.

I lived there for 22 years. I will never live there again.
