If it really does take that long, think about how much practice with legitimately original material you could have with the time spent on a sprite movie.
There is no exact time. The best answer one can give you is it takes a long fucking time. You basically have a choice between tweening a bunch of gifs or tweening a bunch of stills. Since you want to make a fast-paced movie, doing the latter would make the most sense. But even still you may need to make a few animations.
If you're thinking about it in terms of how much time it takes you're probably going about it the wrong way. Think of it more in terms of "it'll get done when it gets done."
Business-minded people are all too big on the whole time constraints thing whereas actual creative types just create and don't concentrate on time so much. Which is why when something is pushed too commercially how the quality begins to suffer (usually)
theres no such thing as a good sprite movie

all my plans for sprite movies involve totally and legitimately origanal content with origanal characters and story made into sprites by a hired artist and animators. so please just answer my question on the length of time to produce a high quality sprite movie it will be appreciated more then just insulting the people who make em please and thank you.

If none of your coworkers are attention starved crybabies who only use their sprite animating talent to bait-and-switch people into watching their furry porn riddled deviantArt, then it should take about 3 to 6 months. This is also assuming they spend all their free time working on your flash and not skulking around the internet looking for critics to throw a tantrum over.

ive been thinking of hiring a profesional team for it rather then a freelance for that very reason 1 artist or team for sprites and a seperate more professional team (theres a couple here i have talked to) to make the movie. one of the ones i talked to varys there prices depending on the difficulty but its usually around $50 per hour. thats why i have been wandering about the length of time so i can do my budget for artists and animators i figure a professional team since they will be doing this for there work hours will get it done faster.
I hope you have money to burn then because with a salary like that, your animators will surely take their sweet time.
Trick question.
You can't make a good sprite movie.
