Heh. Yeah I can see that. No, I'd just had a moment of panic and concern when I saw the thread title. And felt a bit funny that it was just some Hulu thing.

South Park stopped being relevant years ago, it's just not funny anymore.

They rush the episodes now (they finish the episode literally the day it airs) and have ran out of good writing material. I think they should end the show with a movie or something.

Looks like Matt and Trey wanted some more money. Seriously. You would do the same thing too if you owned your own tv show. If a company asked to buy your website based on your show for a decent amount of money, I bet you would sign that paper in a heartbeat.

I have a feeling this is a major reason. They come up with the idea for the episode and create it and air it within less than a week. It goes from concept to completion in 6 days. Seems pretty hard to put out something better than mediocre that way. That and they seem too fixated on it always having to relate to current events. I mean, yeah, they've been topical for a long time, but it seems forced sometimes lately.

Wait, why does Hulu need to charge for the episodes when they have 30 second advertisements before each video? Aren't they making enough cash from that?

Its not like you still won't be able to watch any of the episodes for free. They will have a "revolving selection" of free episodes (Source), meaning they will be frequently changing the selection of episodes you can watch without paying for Hulu. I'm honestly surprised it took them this long to start wanting money for their past work.

But lets be honest, there is always a way to watch things for free...

And that's because you remember back to a time when your 13. It's called nostalgia. Just like when people say the music scene has gone to shit. That's because their lives have gone to shit, because what they knew and grew up with is different now.

South Park is different now, and so it doesn't sit well with how you think it should still be.. like when you were 13.

And when it turned to shit, it wasn't the first time the show changed, either.

Regardless, we shouldn't be lax about this. Matt and Trey became the type of people they mocked in Informative Murder Porn, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them rubbing their nipples. Also, it's another victory for the 1%-er corporations if we just live with it. This needs to stop, and I see a boycott of South Park (at least on Hulu/SouthParkStudios) as a way to send that message.

If people watch it on Hulu Plus, they are basically saying it is okay for corporations to do this and will give them the incentive to expand their media takeover further. One day, this struggling place we call Newgrounds will be acquired by Hulu and we will have to subscribe to Hulu Plus to access 90% of the games and movies here...

College's usually have a really biased point of view, while South Park shows many different points of views. If I remember correctly, the creators of South Park are pro-gun and pro-gay Marriage. Correct me if I am wrong.
