Game Jam 10 is officially a go and the theme is: "The Unknown."
The show Lost was able to keep viewers' attention with all sorts of mysteries, most of which were sadly never resolved.
Create a game that lures players in with mystery and suspense of something unknown. It would also be great to have a big reveal, to give them a satisfying ending. The more mysterious and suspenseful your game, the better!
You are also welcome to interpret "The Unknown" in any other crazy way you like, if you want to go for the most unique take on the theme.
Tag your game with "gamejam10" and please publish by 9pm EST this Sunday, July 13th.
You are allowed to make updates and fixes to your game after publishing.
You are also invited to discuss your ongoing work in this thread!
Sorry in advance if I'm not on-line too much this weekend, I got a vasectomy yesterday and I'm doing a lot of couch time without a huge desire to sit the laptop on my lap top. And yes I read this today... Whoops.
That's also why I moved Robot Day from yesterday to July 18th, now you know!
Happy jamming everyone! I'm amped to play your games and I'm sure the rest of the NG regs are too!
"The Unknown"? Hmm. Hmmmmm! Well, personally I think EVERY game should have some element of "unknown", but this seems like a pretty good theme. ;) Unfortunately I have an early morning schedule this weekend, which always leaves me tired all day...but we'll see!

Wait seriously? Wow how's that working out for you?
I have a penis

Well enough, I'm just afraid of moving around too much too soon and breaking something.
That sounds painful
Best recovery Tom!
Now with the theme, maybe I'll base it around the unknown theme by involving the unknown complications of West Nile symptoms (and the hilarious fun involved).
Buzzing, smilie mosquitoes anyone? ahahahugh
Hrmpf. I'll see what I can manage.
In the meantime...
A rather disgusting-looking git that should have been disposed of ages ago.

Oh cool, what a neat theme. I have some wicked ideas that are brilliant and innovative, but I'm going to be folding laundry this weekend and watching my grandma take a nap. Wish I could participate. Maybe next time.
Enough of this.
Please, I'm sick of reading whiny ass bitching to the tune of "coulda, woulda, shoulda". Participate in this jam or don't, dawgs, but spare us your excuses and good intentions. Doesn't do anyone any good. Jesus doesn't float down from a big puffy cloud and give you a gold star sticker for your consideration and fruitless ideas.
Haha, I'm just playin' ya'll. You know I love you. Keep spamming with your worthless drivel.
That's a nice theme. I'm going to participate this time. Good luck everyone. I've had a nice idea some time ago that fits this time. Let's see if it will become a good minigame.
PS: Get well soon, Tom and of course everyone else who is feeling bad atm!
Time to play!
Exciting! My partner and I have developed a story and are beginning our journey for art. We'd love to have a character artist on board who can do custom portraits for our dialogues. Please drop a line!
Yeah dude, I had my balls cut on too, it was sore sore, and my nuts got really big and black for a while. My cock still stayed white and tiny though. Best decision of my life though, I can poke anyone with this thing and no one cares!

Yeah I feel like I just upgraded my armor in an RPG.

My game is about an evil, cancer-ridden prostate, and the mysterious unknown hero who rises to stop it.
spoiler: the hero is a healthy lifestyle
How interesting. I've been working on a game that fits this game jam's theme perfectly. And just yesterday I had a strong urge to hurry up and finish it and post it here to Newgrounds after not having really been active since 2007. Hope you won't mind if I tag my game. I assume since I've already been working on it, I'm automatically disqualified, but this game just works with the theme really well. Can't wait to show it!
Haha that was a very bi-polar article. "Men who have a vasectomy may be at increased risk for aggressive prostate cancer, a new study suggests."
And then: "But the risk is comparatively small, the researchers acknowledged."
And then they go on to say basically "But, seriously. It increases your risk for dangerous prostate cancer. Kinda."
Either way, just get your butt poked (by a professional) once a year and you'll be fine, Tom. Also, I'm hopping in for the jam this weekend.
