not so much a "stupid place" as it is a city beating a dead horse trying to remain relevant:

Bradford, England (the city I grew up in)

Bradford used to be an important place in England because of its textiles industry during the industrial revolution. It was linked by canal along with Leeds and some other towns and Manchester and whatever.
some of the houses in Bradford were among the best that money could buy at one time. now they are, quite frankly, crack dens.
Bradford has nothing of virtue. It is one large playground for gangs, vandals, drug pushers and misc. criminals.

they keep pumping millions into various "regeneration schemes" to turn the place into less of a shithole. it has never worked.

When I emigrated from england about six years ago they were still "starting work" on a new leisure/shopping centre. as of today it is a hole in the ground. here is the timeline, although I use the word "timeline" loosely since it generally implies a chronological sequence of events (i.e. things happening)

two race riots in the time I lived there

short version: knock the whole city down and turn it into affordable housing, and clamp down on street crime with zero tolerance

New York City — they basically flatten old infrastructure and built on top of it. Digging down dozens of stories reveals older iterations of the city.
Setenil de las Bodegas — Half the city is built under a rock.
Cave city — There tows are built inside of mega-caves in China.
Mont Saint-Michel — They had to keep fortifying the outer wall to keep floodwaters out.
Venice — They spend a ton of money maintaining that soggy waterbog.

Don't bring up what i consume in the argument. It's completely irrelevant (and yeah i know i took a shot at your food but still). We're talking about your supposed inability to sneeze despite being just another human being. I got an amazing immune system too and i still sneeze but then it'd be completely odd if i didn't. I admit, it does annoy me at times but what are you gonna do?

It's like a microwave without beep noises or rice not being white. It's odd when it isn't happening. Cause you're so used to that, plus if a microwave doesn't beep people will think it's broken.
