It honestly makes me so sad when I hear stories like this, mostly cause of the end result of a dead dog. No dog is created evil, its poor ownership, neglect and abuse which leads them to attacking people. If people want dogs they need to understand the responsibilities ahead of them and not get them for some kind of social status.

An innocent human dying is sad every single time and goes without saying. Dogs who are failed by their owners need a voice because this will just keep keep happening until something changes in relation to pet ownership and the sentences people are given when people are harmed due to their neglect and/or mistreatment of their dogs.

Besides, I love dogs. I've cried more times in my life over news articles about dogs then I have about humans. You won't find me placing many lives over those of dogs.

also, who's to say how long it had been between its last meal and the meal before that? and who's to say how big its last meal was.
there is definitely more to this than just 2 days without food, and the two people responsible for this deserve to be treated horiffically during their stay at her majesty's service.

I think people feel empathy for both the dog and the victim. The fact that the person was mauled to death by a dog isn't subsidized by the fact that the dog was neglected and abused; In my eyes it's more notable to discuss the latter however as there isn't much to say about the dude who was mauled, other than the typical slew of "R.I.P." esque comments or responses. Mainstream news media does a pretty good job of down-playing the significance of death in my eyes as well.

The fact that a dog was actually abused to the point of THIS is pretty absurd, you certainly don't hear about that often.

I say there's lots of dogs that should be killed on the spot. There's too many aggressive feral dogs and dog packs roaming around as it is anyway in some areas. Kill it because it's not your friend and it doesn't see you as a friend either.

And yeah pretty messed up how lots of people value dogs more than humans. So feed those people to starving dogs already. I mean they're human and the dog is more valuable in their eyes, and it needs to eat, right?

at the hotel I worked at, guests would abandon their dogs in the hotel room for 12 hours at a time with no food or water so that they could go off skiing and doing tourist shit.

It sucks about what happened to the pensioner & the dog.

Although, 45 hours without food seems a bit short to start eating a human being. I'm not a dog expert, but people can last about a month without food; we can last weeks, without water.

Don't you think it was a bit too soon for a pet dog to hunt for man? Maybe vicious survival instincts took over, because it wasn't looked after properly.
