Hope you realize that isn't actually him and how easy it is to fake something like that using inspect element.
Anyway, while I think Let's Plays are okay and all that jazz, technically he is right. He is just stupid because it is free advertising for his game though so making a big deal over it is pointless.

I hate that logic. It doesn't matter if someone feels like they're doing the developer a favor. If you're making money off of streaming games or doing Let's Plays you're making money off of someone else's content. People are entitled and live in a world where they deserve to make money sitting on their ass playing video games.
Some developers/publishers are cool with it and that's great, but if they're not they have every right not to be.

It works only in simulation games and random generated world games. Most games still are one-time experience, based on story. A lot of players play mainly for the story. I don't know why should I even have to fuck with all those guards and bosses of MGS when I can just watch a playthrough on yt, and enjoy the story, right?

I'm pretty sure that the fourth amendment to the constitution guarantees us the right to profit off of the labor of others without so much as giving them a small percentage of our earnings. Anything else is pure fascism.

I kind of agree with the man, to be honest. Not completely, but as a Let's Player myself, I think if there was an option to share some of the ad revenue with the developer, especially on indie games, I'd click it. I mean, transformative work and all that, but really, if I'm playing the guy's game for the internet, and I'm making money off it, especially if I'm one of those "critics" that was given a free copy, shouldn't I morally feel compelled to share at least a bit of it with the developer? I'm not even limiting it to indie games. If I'm a smash hit playing the latest battlefield, and the option was there to share revenue with DICE, I think I'd still click it. I'd hope I would, anyways. I think it's a better option than the all-or-nothing content ID system they have now. Another thing is, with the angry joes and the yahtzees or whatever, I barely consider being a critic as a job. It's like, what makes you so goddamn special that your opinion really matters? I mean I like Yahtzee, I think he's funny, and that's more of what I used to watch him for, rather than actual purchase advice. But I mean, even with people like Roger Ebert, give your opinion and all, I guess I'm just surprised that people give a shit. I guess I'm just surprised that it's this whole industry rather than buddies saying "Hey, check this out".
But I also can't help but feel that there's some context left out of these tweets, I remember hearing about one that made me think that it was kind of a joke.
On an unrelated note, the best Fez is Fez Whatley.

This is just another example of how not all indie game developers are creating just to create. He's just a greedy shit.

I've never heard of him before nor this Fez game but it's probably crap. Then again I'm not a "casual gamer" so I really couldn't care less what the next trendy game is the casual gaming types hop onto.
He's not important in the least. Next time try discussing an actual worthy games programmer like John Carmack or Shigeru Miyamoto. Not some no-name.
Or he's just not important and I don't keep up with every single developer that spits out a half-assed game and has his 5 minutes of fame and then is forgotten forever even by his fans anyway. Because he doesn't matter.
Can you name every developer that works or has worked for every gaming studio without looking that shit up? Okay GO! If not then shut up.

If you watched Indie Game: The Movie, you really get to do with this guy, game development (he made the game with his partner until he got ditched and had to finish it alone), publishing, and promotion is an absolute hell, apparently. You can't blame him for trying to get the most out of his own blood, sweat 'n tears, imo. He is being a dick, but for very valid reasons.

He should stay away from fame I think. From what I saw of Phil Fish he seemed very uptight and insecure when dealing with criticism. Maybe he is a more relaxed and likeable person when not under the spotlight, who knows.
