Today's games aren't interesting. I already have the games I would get.
I'm waiting for the insane price on Valve's games.

Steam sales are really underwhelming. I've seen all these games as cheap or cheaper throughout the year.

It's worth taking a look at SavyGamer before buying anything, too. For the last few sales they've kept lists of where you can get sale games cheaper, and you'd be surprised how many of them that applies to.

I like that they're giving away games now instead of focusing on the stupid badges as the reward for throwing away your money on games you'll never play. Not into the whole concept of randomly being placed on a team and needing to craft badges to earn points so maybe your team will be eligible to win. So needlessly convoluted.

I'm on a SRPG kick so I'll pick up Banner Saga if it's cheap enough. Other than that I'll probably keep my wallet shut for this one.

Actually, anyone who contributed points has a chance to win, They randomly select 30 people. That means I can just be a leech, contribute one point, and still get a chance.

Yeah I think it's gonna stay $7 the whole time but I was hoping for a sale that'd lower it a bit. Gonna wait for my next paycheck to clear til I get it then.

Tom needs to show us all some love. 90% off coupons if you're an ng regular. Do eeet.

The summer sale has to happen at the worst time for me; I'm on vacation and won't get back until the sale ends. Prices are higher in Europe, sadly, but I may get Payday 2 if the price gets any lower. I also want to get the Summer badge, but I don't think I'll be able to craft it, since I'm on a tablet. Does anybody know if I'll be able to craft it on a tablet? I hope I can.

So far I picked up:

BattleBlock Theater €7,49
The Witcher €1,59

I got my eyes on a few other games, but I'm waiting for them to go on flash sale (or daily deal).

Really hope you can get it, the game is really fun. Was doing a co-op run yesterday with Auz. He seemed to be having fun playing. :3

I was :)

We could finish our run if you got time this weekend.

I grabbed that Shadowrun Returns off the flash sale on a whim, and it's fantastic.

Halfway between the original Fallout games and the recent XCOM reboot. Only played 2 hours so far, but if it keeps going like it is then it's a hell of a game to get for £3. Hoping the DLC campaign gets a better deal too. £6.50 at the minute, if it goes below £5 I'll grab it as well.

Picked up Call of Juarez: Gunslinger too but haven't been on it yet. I thought 2 was pretty good but haven't played any of the others.

I really want The Witcher 2 for before the 3rd comes out.. I never had the chance to play those games. Also I'd like to pick up Morrowind if it goes at a lower price as it's the only one I don't have on Steam.

So far I've picked up Postal 2, Audiosurf, Age of Empires II HD and Skyrim.

The only summer sale I've ever been able to take advantage of. It feels good.

Response to Steam Summer Sale 2014 Thread 2014-06-21 16:34:29

I got Final Doom

The Steam version itself is crap, (It's literally just a copy with a DOS emulator.) so I ended up running it with zdoom, great little tool.

Does Final Doom come with the doom2.wad file?

So far I've only gotten Castle Crashers and the DLC for it which only amounted to about $4. These are other games I'm hoping to get while they're on sale:

Skyrim: Legendary Edition
Borderlands 2: GOTY Edition
DayZ (only 15% off though, so wtf)
The Witcher series (probably just 1 and 2 tho; they're like collectively $5 right now)
Sir, You Are Being Hunted (I forget how much it is)
Planet Explorers

I'm sure that there's more, but I can't really think of it right now. Also, my team's winning, so hooray.

I would doubt it since Doom 2 is sold separately. You could easily find a d/l for the doom2.wad file and run it through zdoom though.

*sigh*....and I'm the idiot who didn't think to wait for the Steam Summer Sale to actually start. I bought it just like a week before when it was $14.99. Oh well, it's well worth it, I believe.

Plus it's a bonus that I get Hatty Hattington as a character in Castle Crashers off of it, so there's that.

Best day of the Steam sales so far, at least for me. Nabbed Kingdoms of Amalur (finally 75%) and Battleblock Theater. What a steal.

putting it out there, will not get Skyrim for personal past emotional issues, anything else is up for recommendation

Check out Betrayer. I just picked it up when it was a flash deal today. It's a highly stylized FPS exploration game with a stealth element.

What I've gotten so far:

BattleBlock Theather
DuckTales Remastered
Dust; An Elysian Tail
Fable - The Lost Chapters
Fallout: New Vegas
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon
Every GTA game up until GTA4 Lost episodes
Monaco
Orion Dino Horde
Papers, Please

Not sure how much more I plan on spending. Hoping all those tide me over for a while. Missed the super meat boat sale though. :(

Fun game, but a fairly short one. The story only takes about 10 hours worth of gameplay to beat.

Haven't even touched it yet. Been playing Papers, Please which is quite a deep yet strange game. Still have to finish Dark Souls 2 at some point @_@.

I sure goofed this sale. But still this is an insanely good deal for anyone interested in both of those games!

That's a bug. Castle Crashers being 90% off on the community deal has effected the bundle too. Pretty sure that wasn't intentional.
