Time for Intel to change their branding again. What do you think will replace the Core i series? Will Intel ditch the Core brand altogether?

i7 looks great to me. There are various processors in that series which should be able to accommodate for your CPU needs, at least for 7 more years.

Pentium has been Intel's flagship brand from 1993 to 2006.
6 years of Core ain't nothin'.

I don't know much about computer specs, but I just got a laptop with an Intel Core i5, and it runs great.

Haswell is the name of the architecture.
Nehalem, Westmere, Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge and Haswell are all just different generations of the Core i series.

They're good chips, but I can't say I've appreciated Intel's way of doing business in the past, same with Apple. Both companies like to rape local school systems with overpriced crap kids don't need. And I believe Intel lost an appeal to get their 1 1/2 billion euro antitrust case dismissed recently.... which is roughly equivalent to what they had to pay AMD for stolen tech a few years ago.
At least the motherboard manufacturers are still making new boards, there hasn't been a new AMD mobo for over 2 years, and the quality of the ones hitting the market now are becoming more dubious |:
Now building Vault 101, reverse engineered from yesterdays technology.. or I could ignore it, and let you figure it out |:

Who? Because if you are saying me, then no not really. I did not even post my specs. I made a comment about Intel's current flagship CPU brand. That was it.

Would you rather Intel had stuck with the old x86 naming scheme?
Pentium would have been the 586, Pentium II and III the 686, Pentium 4 = 786, Core 2 = 886, Nehalem = 986, Sandy/Ivy Bridge = 1086, and finally, Haswell/Broadwell as the 1186.

Isn't Intel updating the i7 line soon? They're adding something after the 4770k, but I can't remember exactly what it was.
I kinda like the iX branding. It basically just kinda tells what level your processor's on.
