What's the most difficult boss you've ever faced in a game? (Demon Souls/Dark Souls fanboys need not post)
I would have to say the final boss from Knack (can't remember his name) would have to be the toughest for me.
I got so mad fighting him on hard mode.
That being said, once you find out the trick to beating him, it's not that bad.
You know, these Rocky Mountains aren't so rocky.
I was thinking the same thing. That John Denver is full of shit man.

Someone just made a thread like this with the last post being less than two days old (although "annoying" and "toughest" I guess could be considered separate things to a certain degree).
In the event that this topic survives, I might as well copy + paste what I said on the other thread:
Wily Capsule - Mega Man 7
The Dark Demon - Demon's Crest
4-B, 7-B & 8-B - Donkey Kong Country Returns
Any Ultimate Boss - Shin Megami Tensei series
I'm sure there's plenty more for me, but I'm too lazy to think of them atm.

I wasn't aware someone made that topic.
But I would say annoying and tough are different.
Annoying doesn't have to do so much with difficulty so much as how tedious it is. Like the Pain from MGS3.

Indeed they are, that previous thread actually got derailed by people who couldn't understand the difference, claiming difficult bosses were the "most annoying" when they often aren't.

I like how I did Yizamat on my first try taking about 5 hours, then I looked into it afterwards and realised you were suppose to take breaks as apparently his hp didn't recover if you left....but that is the cheap way of doing it!

Senator Armstrong. He is the final boss in Metal Gear Rising. He's got some bullshit nanomachine powers that heals him instantly, like Vamp had while also making his skin super strong up to the point where Raidens absurdly sharp blade can't even cut through him.
Also he got a one-hit kill move which is pretty much impossible to avoid if you're not so good at using the blade precision mode. Cause he throws some shit at you that you must cut precise and fast otherwise you die.

Mister Sinister's Army in Deadpool. Took me 2 weeks to do that mission! And I wa on easy!
Whats in name? Is a name a word to call people? There are over 1 million people named Jeff, but what about someone with a obscure name, like Isis? Does that make them special?

The goddamned "Masked Man" from Mother 3.
I swear, you cannot defeat that guy without farming 'till you get PK Lifeup Omega or buy an entire teams' inventory's worth of bombs and rockets.

DANCE WATER DANCE!
At the time, I wasn't used to forced time limit bosses, needless to say, it took me a couple of weeks before I figured out how to beat him.

You mean early on or at the end of the game? Early on, he's not that difficult, I just pummeled into the Masked Man with ease, second time around, you're not supposed to fight, simply endure.

Early on.
That guy was a pain.
Probably didn't find it too easy since I avoid fights sometimes.
It got easier by my second run of the game.
I've yet to try it again a third time.

Off the top of my head?
Ornstein and Smough from Dark Souls. They came at a point where I felt like I was becoming comfortable with the game and they just beat my ass with their aggressive double-team tactics. At all times you have to be aware of where both enemies are on the battlefield, aware of where you are, aware of your health and stamina. Which, granted, is true of all Souls bosses, but here there's absolutely no room for error as they can both close distance quickly pummel the shit out of you.
Ninja Gaiden (NES) -
One of the most spirit crushing moments in gaming is stumbling your way through level 6 only to die immediately to the boss and find out that you only get that one shot before it sends you all the way back to the start of the level. So you have to perfect the most bullshit level in the game before you can even take an honest attempt at the final bosses.

it'd have to be between soulcaster from cthulhu saves the world, ozma in ff9, perfect stat version of galamoth as richter in castlevania: sotn, dragonduck in breath of death 7, and kalphite queen in runescape.
toughest ive actually beaten would be between sixtails in megaman x command mission (ninetails was a pushover), dullahan and deadbeard in goldensun and goldensun: tla, bonetail in paper mario:ttyd, and bass.exe in megaman battle network 1.

This guy right here.
In all of the times I've battled him, I've only beaten him ONCE, and in the NA version of the original game you get NOTHING for beating him!
You DO get an apparently good Keyblade in the Final Mix version though.
On the other hand, I can beat him more frequently in Kingdom Hearts II.

Second one, equally tough but you get a keyblade.

which omega weapon? it matters. the one from ff8 is easy to cheese if you abuse the lid open glitch with selphie's limit break. hell, even without hax it still can be considered a piece of cake in my opinion.. then again, i used nothing but summon spams the entire game through, even on adel, so my guardian forces were ridiculously overleveled..

Really have to doubt the validity of the post. Adel is the ONLY boss you avoid using summons on because of Rinoa being junctioned to Adel. Also, seeing as I no longer play it on Playstation, but PC instead, can no longer do the lid open glitch. I personally just got the Laguna card, used Haste and Aura on Squall and was done with the battle in about 10 minutes.
