Metroid: Other M: The only bad things were the story and Samus's character structure.
Knack: No it wasn't anything very new or groundbreaking, but it was still fun and gave the PS4 the mascot it was looking for.
DMC: Devil May Cry: Honestly, Dante's new look isn't even a valid point in hating on this game.

i can see why some people wouldn't care for gone home but i will never understand how it made some gamers hateful enough to tear down critics who named it their goty
i haven't played it yet but i also think watch dogs has gotten too much hate mostly due to it being overhyped over the past two years and i thought we all learned by now to never buy or pre-order a triple-a game at launch

it wasn't just the story having some of the worst writing i've ever seen in a game (lol, adam's death was so pointless), the gameplay added nothing to the series as a whole and the control scheme kept breaking the flow

To be fair, it was almost the same gameplay as Metroid Prime. Once you got used to it there was really nothing wrong with it.

that's only the tip of the iceberg for why that game was hated.

Because it's a walking simulator with barely any content. Anyone that named something without any gameplay GOTY isn't someone whose opinion on games should matter at all.

CoD.
Seriously, people need to chill the fuck down about this game. It doesn't make you look respectable to hate on this overhated game, rather it makes you come as 12 and a douchebag.

gameplay is terrible compared to the old games and the fact the devs intentionally pissed off the fan base is such a terrible way to promote your game.

Sonic games from 2009 and onward.
Seriously, guys, the Dark Age of Sonic is long past us. Sonic and the Black Knight may have been a mediocre title, but it's certainly a step up from its on-the-rails predecessor.
Also, Colors (DS) and Generations were amazing.
Also, Lost World doesn't count.
Also, Sonic Boom looks like a fairly different experience.
Yeah.

The only thing wrong with the gameplay was the lack of a lock-on system. You can't say the game was shit just because the others were better. Take it as it is.
Also the DMC fanbase is cancer.

sonic 06, shadow the hedgehog, goldeneye: rogue agent, and final fantasy 8...
anyone who thinks sonic 06 was glitchy was either playing the sonic generations mod version, or deliberately looking for any glitch they could find so they could have some reasonable excuse other than that the animation and acting were terribly handled. those who play the actual game normally will almost certainly run into only a small handful of the glitches compared to the amount those who go looking for them do. and wont be terribly inconvenienced.
shadow the hedgehog is one of the best games of all time if you dont mind overuse of rpg elements, lack of a good rank system, and the "darker" part of the trope "darker and edgier"...
goldeneye rogue agent had no faults whatsoever, other than that it wasnt what it's title screamed to the fans of the actual goldeneye game for n64, which is to say that it was in no way a sequel.
final fantasy 8, well, i can see why people might fault it, they dont like the equip system being replaced with junctions, they dont like the weaker spellcasting, and they dont like weaponry being a total pain to upgrade..
but as for the story, well, its damn fine done. a sorceress descended from a god desires to assimilate all of existence in every era of time so she can inherit the entirety of his powers... a direct foil to exdeath. its so good it makes the loss of scientific sense in favor of magical nonsensicality partway through entirely forgivable.
then there's squall. totally misunderstood guy, he's not emo, just an aspy like his father, only his social inhibitions are to a lesser degree because of how he was raised. i can relate, i mean, i'm an aspy myself..
the summon system was also damn good stuff, even better than ff10s in my opinion, in fact, second only to ff7, tied with ff6, if that. ff7 is overrated, ff8 rules the world. or, you know, it would, if ffs 2, 4, 5, and 6 weren't better in their own way..

It was an alright game. THankfully did not encounter many glitches, but the ones that I did forced me to restart the whole level. The reason I hated that game so much is LOADING TIMES. I spent so much time at loading screens for no reason.

I actually enjoyed that game a lot. Was darker and edgier and fun in my opinion. I believe there was only one or two goals through out all levels I was unable to complete. I remember never getting Maria's goal on ARK because I couldn't find some of the Chaos things.
goldeneye rogue agent had no faults whatsoever, other than that it wasnt what it's title screamed to the fans of the actual goldeneye game for n64, which is to say that it was in no way a sequel.
Never played it but that glitch that occurred from tilting the cartridge became a huge meme. Spawned the "get down" dance meme.

Only thing I didn't like too much is the romance subplot. I did hate Squall for awhile while playing but after playing more and more, I just felt sad for him due to his backstory and wanted to give him a hug. He dealt with so much. :( I actually didn't mind the junction system, I thought it was neat for a system of its time.

the metal gear series had terrible loading times and cutscenes out the wazoo, and nobody held it against the overall quality of said series..

yeah, his situation is sad, again, i can relate, everything being taken away from a person over and over whenever they get their hopes up, kinda hard to trust it won't happen again..

Yea, but as far as I know, none of them were forced onto the market in time for a holiday.

I know that feel too. Games seem to be better when there is a character you can relate to, same goes for shows and movies.

Hold on there, buckaroo.
I can safely say that Sonic 06 is the worst game I've ever played.
It's not just glitches that make the game terrible. The controls on EVERYTHING are bad, the character models were stiff and lifeless, their lips didn't sync with the dialogue in cutscenes, the storyline was practically a bad fanfiction, there were power ups that did absolutely nothing (they had a purpose but the game wasn't finished you see), you could lose a life just by running into a wall and falling into it, Knuckles and Rogue often got stuck when climbing a wall, everyone besides Sonic and Shadow ran PAINFULLY slow, the level design was one dimensional and boring, IT'S NO USE, HOW BOUT THIS, TAKE THIS, and there is a pointless multiplayer mode. Yeah, let's get more than one person involved in this travesty.
Not to mention there is DLC for extra levels and very hard mode.

same things you're faulting that game for (that actually apply) are in every game ever made these days..
storyline was awesome, a god gets used as a power source in an experiment gone wrong, and vows to get his revenge on the entire plane of existence responsible... running wasnt slow at all, you mustve been high at the time.. controls were fine, powerups always worked, only time you died by hitting a wall is if you failed to manually center your hit on the speedup pads properly, or if an enemy knocked you through it, which though glitchy isnt all that bad.
everything else applies, though as i said before, all games made these days have the same exact faults, but only a few of them are ever called crap for it, while others are hailed as the best games of all time for whatever reason..

That doesn't make it okay.
:storyline was awesome, a god gets used as a power source in an experiment gone wrong, and vows to get his revenge on the entire plane of existence responsible...
It had nothing to do with revenge. Solaris was created when Iblis, the god of destruction, and Mephilis, the Sonic equivalent of Satan, fused to create the apocalypse god. That part was fine. But the worst parts of the story involved the creepy furry love story. Aside from none of the characters having any depth or development.
:running wasnt slow at all, you mustve been high at the time..
God I hope you're trolling. Go play as Tails, Amy, Rouge, or Silver and you'll see what I mean.
:controls were fine
Run in a straight line. Then start changing directions. Tell me that isn't choppy as hell. And you obviously haven't played any of Shadow's story. The vehicle sections were awful. Slippery as hell yet they couldn't gain any air when you drove over a ramp.
:powerups always worked
I'm not saying they didn't work. They just didn't do anything useful. With the exception of the one Silver can use to do a drop attack that stuns enemies in the immediate radius.
:only time you died by hitting a wall is if you failed to manually center your hit on the speedup pads properly, or if an enemy knocked you through it, which though glitchy isnt all that bad.
It doesn't just happen then. Depending on the stage, you can just run into a wall. It happens most often in the mach speed stages (worst parts of the Sonic campaign)
everything else applies, though as i said before, all games made these days have the same exact faults, but only a few of them are ever called crap for it, while others are hailed as the best games of all time for whatever reason..
Again, that's no excuse for the game to be bad. It harms this game just as it harms the others.

you're missing the point, the fact that some games are praised for how good they are despite the fact that these same faults exist is proof that sonic 06 shouldnt be any different.

just because shadow claimed solaris only craved destruction doesnt mean revenge wasnt a factor, it was still an objective. mephiles wanted the universe dead because soleanna split him up from iblis with their meddling.
furry love story? all games these days have terrible love stories, even the good ones, pay it no mind says i...
God I hope you're trolling. Go play as Tails, Amy, Rouge, or Silver and you'll see what I mean.
silver, tails, and rouge are meant to fly in perpetuity outside attacks, silver less so because of the energy gauge. amy runs just fine, seriously, i dont get what the problem is..
Run in a straight line. Then start changing directions. Tell me that isn't choppy as hell. And you obviously haven't played any of Shadow's story. The vehicle sections were awful. Slippery as hell yet they couldn't gain any air when you drove over a ramp.
who the hell runs in a straight line and then suddenly changes direction? straight lines alone is beyond me except for the speedup sections of the stage. and no, the vehicle controls were great. minus the hang glider part, that thing was too bulky and slow.
I'm not saying they didn't work. They just didn't do anything useful. With the exception of the one Silver can use to do a drop attack that stuns enemies in the immediate radius..
i thought you meant the icon powerups inside the monitors.. you REALLY have something wrong with your head if you think the purchased upgrades aren't useful..
It doesn't just happen then. Depending on the stage, you can just run into a wall. It happens most often in the mach speed stages (worst parts of the Sonic campaign)
nope, just depletes your rings. least, thats what happened every single time i played through them..

again, thats no excuse for calling it bad. it DIDN'T harm some of the others, so why should it this one?

You're missing the point. Most other games aren't consistent in their flaws. In Sonic 06, you are always finding new ones.
just because shadow claimed solaris only craved destruction doesnt mean revenge wasnt a factor, it was still an objective. mephiles wanted the universe dead because soleanna split him up from iblis with their meddling.
Mephiles wanted the universe dead because he is literally Satan.
furry love story? all games these days have terrible love stories, even the good ones, pay it no mind says i...
That's quite a bold statement.
silver, tails, and rouge are meant to fly in perpetuity outside attacks, silver less so because of the energy gauge. amy runs just fine, seriously, i dont get what the problem is...
Tails and Rouge ran fast in previous games. And you obviously haven't even played as Amy.
who the hell runs in a straight line and then suddenly changes direction? straight lines alone is beyond me except for the speedup sections of the stage. and no, the vehicle controls were great. minus the hang glider part, that thing was too bulky and slow.
You'll be running in a straight line if that's where a path takes you. The hovercraft, buggy, and the motorcycle all controlled like ass. They made slippery turns, often flipped over, couldn't gain air to save your life, and their weapons were next to useless.
i thought you meant the icon powerups inside the monitors.. you REALLY have something wrong with your head if you think the purchased upgrades aren't useful..
You need to get your head checked if you thing the green and purple gem power ups had any use whatsoever.
nope, just depletes your rings. least, thats what happened every single time i played through them..
I'm guessing you haven't even been to Wave Ocean where you slide over the water and you have the option to run into the loops.

nope, you only find what you look for in most cases. evidently you went looking for quite a few.
just because shadow claimed solaris only craved destruction doesnt mean revenge wasnt a factor, it was still an objective. mephiles wanted the universe dead because soleanna split him up from iblis with their meddling.Mephiles wanted the universe dead because he is literally Satan.
now who's the one fanfic-ing?
That's quite a bold statement.
it's actually quite easy if you a: like games, and b: have tried your fair share of popular titles. bold or not, its a simple task..
Tails and Rouge ran fast in previous games. And you obviously haven't even played as Amy.
tails never ran good except in sonic adventure 1... and of course i played as amy, ive unlocked last story for heaven's sake..
You'll be running in a straight line if that's where a path takes you. The hovercraft, buggy, and the motorcycle all controlled like ass. They made slippery turns, often flipped over, couldn't gain air to save your life, and their weapons were next to useless.
buggy was fine at getting air if you used the speedup pads. hovercraft was fine too, and i didnt bother with the motorcycle when avoidable.. often flipped over? no more than the vehicles in halo. warthog is actually worse than the buggy.
if thats where a path takes me? not really, i always do just fine running zigzaggy/curvy.. not that i encountered too many bugs even the few times i went straight mind you..
You need to get your head checked if you thing the green and purple gem power ups had any use whatsoever.
purple gem is the most useful of all upgrades, you can use its goodbadbuginess with infinite jumping to get through the aquatic base in record time, or get access to areas you arent meant to even visit in the world map, effectively giving you a massive easter egg. also quite good for backtracking after jumping off a high ledge, and snagging silver medals. green gem i dont really care for but its a nice gimmick.. not worth its price tag, but nice..
I'm guessing you haven't even been to Wave Ocean where you slide over the water and you have the option to run into the loops.
i'm guessing you never fought perfect chaos in sonic adventure 1. sonic cant swim in deep water without powerups in 3d, thats why he dies.
You're wrong. It harmed the others just as it harmed this game. This game just had more flaws than the others. And it mde for an overall worse experience.
you're wrong, it didnt, because people called these games the best games of all time. overlord 2 for example, glitchy out the wazoo, some parts can even force you to restart the stage/start a new save. but its still highly rated by everyone.

anyone who thinks sonic 06 was glitchy was either playing the sonic generations mod version, or deliberately looking for any glitch they could find so they could have some reasonable excuse other than that the animation and acting were terribly handled. those who play the actual game normally will almost certainly run into only a small handful of the glitches compared to the amount those who go looking for them do. and wont be terribly inconvenienced.
final fantasy 8, well, i can see why people might fault it, they dont like the equip system being replaced with junctions, they dont like the weaker spellcasting, and they dont like weaponry being a total pain to upgrade..
but as for the story, well, its damn fine done. a sorceress descended from a god desires to assimilate all of existence in every era of time so she can inherit the entirety of his powers... a direct foil to exdeath. its so good it makes the loss of scientific sense in favor of magical nonsensicality partway through entirely forgivable.
then there's squall. totally misunderstood guy, he's not emo, just an aspy like his father, only his social inhibitions are to a lesser degree because of how he was raised. i can relate, i mean, i'm an aspy myself..
the summon system was also damn good stuff, even better than ff10s in my opinion, in fact, second only to ff7, tied with ff6, if that. ff7 is overrated, ff8 rules the world. or, you know, it would, if ffs 2, 4, 5, and 6 weren't better in their own way..
I agree on just these 2 - first, Sonic 2006 was the only enjoyable Sonic play experience for me. EVER. I did not like Sonic 1, 2, or 3; almost EVERY sonic game has made me cringe.
the soundtrack is rocking in S2006, and the graphics were not bad at all for the time. and - it's on a NINTENDO PRODUCT! the first smart move by sega, ever.
now FF8, it went back to keeping it simple and relying on the battle tactics instead of character dynamics. for those that didn't know, 7 really relied on 'character purpose' like 6, mostly 5, kind of 4, and just basically #1 - it tried to combine a lot of things a FF game needed but instead it bit the bullet of 'unoriginality,' 'plain,' 'simple,' even "too easy." FF8 isn't bad at all, and the inclusion of the summons and the graphics for the time were a better switch from gritty steampunks like 6 and 7 - it sort of became colorful again.
now what's a game in MY mind that gets too much hate? resident evil 3. many people didn't seem to like this game, and this was actually my 2nd resident evil to play - first being 2. I noticed when I played it, it really gave me a thoughtful imagination dedicated to atmosphere and description. and fright moments - plenty of those in RE3

how in the hell did sonic 3 make you cringe? i can understand the first 2 games, but 3+k is the best of the entire series to nearly anyone and everyone.. adventure 1 and 2 tie for second best most say but... really, 3...
what about most sonic games is it anyhow?

nope, you only find what you look for in most cases. evidently you went looking for quite a few.
I didn't have to look for them. I spoke about the most common ones.
now who's the one fanfic-ing?
You can't be this stupid.
it's actually quite easy if you a: like games, and b: have tried your fair share of popular titles. bold or not, its a simple task..
What the hell are you even talking about?
tails never ran good except in sonic adventure 1... and of course i played as amy, ive unlocked last story for heaven's sake..
You're not giving me much incentive to believe that since you're wrong in just about every part of your argument, and it is quite evident that you haven't even played the game.
buggy was fine at getting air if you used the speedup pads. hovercraft was fine too, and i didnt bother with the motorcycle when avoidable.. often flipped over? no more than the vehicles in halo. warthog is actually worse than the buggy.
You can at least flip the vehicles back over in Halo. That and the areas where you get the vehicles give you more than enough space to move around whereas in Sonic 06 they are most commonly used in areas where you go straight and avoid obstacles.
if thats where a path takes me? not really, i always do just fine running zigzaggy/curvy.. not that i encountered too many bugs even the few times i went straight mind you..
That there is more proof than I need to see that you've never played the game. Curves were few and far between in Sonic 06. They were more common in the older 3D sonic games. More often than not, in Sonic 06 you are speeding down a straight corridor avoiding obstacles.
purple gem is the most useful of all upgrades, you can use its goodbadbuginess with infinite jumping to get through the aquatic base in record time, or get access to areas you arent meant to even visit in the world map, effectively giving you a massive easter egg. also quite good for backtracking after jumping off a high ledge, and snagging silver medals. green gem i dont really care for but its a nice gimmick.. not worth its price tag, but nice..
Again, the game wasn't finished. What you find with these power ups are glitches and you are exploiting them. What's the fun in just going straight to the end of a stage?
i'm guessing you never fought perfect chaos in sonic adventure 1. sonic cant swim in deep water without powerups in 3d, thats why he dies.
Where did I imply Sonic could swim? What do power ups have to do with the Perfect Chaos boss fight? Now you're talking out of your ass.
you're wrong, it didnt, because people called these games the best games of all time. overlord 2 for example, glitchy out the wazoo, some parts can even force you to restart the stage/start a new save. but its still highly rated by everyone.
I can't speak for Overlord since I've never played it. But most games I've played don't have game breaking bugs that kill the entire experience.
You know, these Rocky Mountains aren't so rocky.
I was thinking the same thing. That John Denver is full of shit man.
