I read a statistic saying between 10 and 25% of people are interested in some form of domination, however power play seems to be an interest shared by the majority of people I know that are my age. Factoring in that I was 5 when the 9/11 attacks happened, I've spent the majority of my life watching my own country - and household - fall into decline. I can't help think that if people were polled by age, there would be a direct correlation between economic turmoil and domination fetishes, though I can't say I'm eager to ask my grandmother about her sexuality (she grew up during the depression).
What think you, Newgrounds?

I'm sure it was a depression
Maybe. You should look into it. Sounds like something there would either be an existing study on or which could get approved for a scientific study.

Everyone does that.
I honestly don't enjoy the idea of being dominant sexually.
I think it's a desperation feeling, that because you have no money you must breed to ensure the continuation of your poor genes in a world where rich genes are sold at high prices on auctions and private millionaire sex orgy parties. yes, poverty basically makes you "kinky"

Neither do I. I find it too boring and would rather let someone else do the work.
dominatrixes will tell you that a lot of their clients are wealthy so-called successful people

This. I think it's more the rich people who indulge in BD/SM because they may not like being in power (hence delegating it to dominatrixes and being submissive) and things like stress management yadda yadda. But how does that explain kink? BD/SM isn't really so kinky AFAIK unless vanilla's the standard.

Well, its like in the old west...nothin' really to do around those parts except fuckin'.

perhaps in time gone by it was necessary for poorer humans to engage in kinkier/more adventurous sex in order to survive and this behaviour was passed on memetically
like, in the caveman days if you weren't strong/fit enough to catch and keep your own food you had to be willing to suck everyone off and engage in ponyplay in exchange for food
idk
Naw, everyone rich or poor are really kinky and sexually active.
Rich people just have more money to cover up their sex life. Think how devastated Scrooge Mcduck would be if it was revealed he give the big bad mouse a Tallahassee duck bill blow job? The country club would surely throw him out!
Not to mention if he ran for mayor then people wouldn't vote for him with the realization that he ain't the saint he built his image to be.
