I am not going to raise hopes for this, the gameplay of the previous lot just got more cinematic rather than involving and the stories gone from being shit at the beginning because they didn't care about it, to being overwhelmingly bad when they tried actually making a story, and put itself so deeply into plothole valley and "lets kill off everyone because it will be shocking and not in any way a terrible idea for any sequels that will be made" is going to be retconned so hard. (or already has been, idk I stopped paying any attention after watching the movie version of that game)

If we're talking additional characters, I would expect Shinnok, considering his appearance in the ending of the story mode of MK9. I wouldn't he surprised to see Bo Rai Cho and Tanya, too. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Havik introduced, but I doubt that would happen. Maybe Fujin?
So, with that, I was kinda trying to invite either speculation or just plain wishful thinking from others on possible added characters. Havik is obviously very unlikely, but I personally liked him more than most of the fighters that were introduced during the sixth console generation, or even in MK4. Realistically, I'm thinking Shinnok will be introduced if anyone. Bo Rai Cho and Tanya would probably be more likely than pretty much any other missing face in MK9, except for maybe Motaro, whose absence from the tower was noticable. Of course, though, I wouldn't expect him to be a playable character, but perhaps he would reassume the role he played in MK3. Aside from them, I think Fujin is the closest to anything somewhat in the realm of being close to realistic, but that's it. He could be cool, though, in the hands lf Netherrealm Studios.
So, thoughts? How about the just plain wishful thinking part? Ideal additions? Li Mei, perhaps? Or Drahmin? What about the whole "krypt" thing? Would you prefer it gone, changed in some way, or just the way it is?

The cast should include anybody ever in a Mortal Combat game, plus a few new ones. Plus all new games, like the chess game they featured before.

They did that in Armageddon, which wasn't a very good game. That's just too many characters. Quality over quantity, I say. Miniganmes like chess kombat ain't a bad idea, though.

Armageddon was an interesting concept that they could have pulled off a lot better. The only reason they included every character was because Armageddon was supposed to be the last game.

I liked the idea of having a beat 'em up type mode like Tekken started doing with force mode. I think SSB's subspace emissary is probably the best example of this so far. I wouldn't mind seeing that sort of thing done again in MK X if the focus on it doesn't bring down the main game.
