Fuck you Microsoft

I have tried pretty much everything to install the latest Windows 8.1 Update, including fixes for Windows Update, manual installation, etc. Literally nothing has helped. I have now spent at least 10 HOURS trying to get this botched update to install. Is Microsoft firing all their QA guys to save money or something? This is literally the absolute worst update I have ever seen. To make things worse, now it is stuck on undoing changes and has been like that for several hours.

I hope Microsoft gets a lawsuit for this, because apparently I am not the only one having this issue. I literally could have reinstalled Windows, all the drivers, and all my programs in less time than I have already spent trying to get this pile of fucking shit update to install.

Noone forces you to use technology. Noone guarantees you any technology on the market will work. It can only volounteer to pay you back what you paid for that piece if it doesn't work.

The rules are simple, if you don't like something, you're free to change it. Nothing's standing in your way to start learning assembler, C creating better OS, then starting company and selling it.

What sort of video card do you have?

Radeon HD 4870 X2. 2D acceleration does not work under Linux, and X window system freezes constantly. Happens on every distro I have tried (which is quite a few). To make things worse, a lot of distros seem to fuck themselves up with updates more often than Windows does. Maybe I just have bad hardware for Linux, idk.

Wow, that sucks. You could downgrade to vista or windows 7, but that means getting a copy illegally.

Not really. This PC came with licenses for Vista and 7 (I got the free upgrade to 7 before it came out). So I have legit serials for both. I'm thinking I might just disable Windows Update entirely since I just managed to get Windows 8.1 to boot again. That, and block microsoft servers on my firewall.
