A new study shows that we share DNA/Genomes with the kangaroos. I'd always thought the apes were bad fighters compared to kangaroos :P

We are one of God's species, and I'm sure were linked to most Animals.

Reminds me of the Chinese claiming to have descended from Homo erectus. Australian ex-convicts claiming they're really descended from kangaroos. Psh, I'm gonna let 'em have it.

I'm also inclined to point out the new article is nearly 6 years old, but it's cool.

I'm a survivor. We're a dying breed.

It is today. That is not a problem.

No, Humans are not from Kangaroos. We share some DNA, but we share DNA with every living thing on the planet because we are all descended from one common ancestor.

Kangaroos and Humans split 150 Million years ago, Chimpanzees split from humans some 5 million years ago.

illicit makes a damn good signature.

We share DNA with all sorts of animals. It would be cool to restructure DNA so we can create cool things, but sadly it's too complex and it probably wouldn't work. It's like a computer code, but an extremely complicated one. I don't think we evolved we from any animal to be honest, even just because of the complexity of our bodies and different functions from animals. It may seem logical to say random mutations, but looking at computer viruses as a reference, they don't totally revolutionize the computer, they destroy it.

Well, I think (with no research and remembering my highschool biology class) that humans and kangaroos both come from similar ancestry.

As has been pointed out by other users, we share a lot of genes with a lot of other species and sharing genes doesn't even predicate common descent.

If humans share more genes than expected with kangaroos it's more probably to do with common environmental pressures (we've both spent a lot of time evolving to be largely bipedal, strongly maternal mammals with strong social cohesion and probably similar status in the natural food chain).

Still not knowing and now learning about it is kind cool.

Oh yeah lol, and this definitely makes me think of kangaroos differently. Definitely a TIL kinda thing right here.
