Ngap App For Android

I'm talking with app developers about creating something similar in function to the NGAP Radio flash app made by -EON-.

I'd like to know what you think about this idea while we're still in the alpha phase. The first step in the project outline is designing the interface. Thank you for your input.

Are you going to put adverts on the app, and will the audio artists profit?

I think @Filarius was attempting something like this, to make a radio service but on his site rather than as an app. I believe Tom Fulp would prefer the traffic to come through Newgrounds, or something owned by Newgrounds, since they are hosting the audio files.

(I might be wrong, so I hope I can have the record set straight)

Yes, but I did it more like proof-of-convept, pretty ugly way, but from first byte of code I allways thought about respect to authors of music and what I will add work to NG hardware without moneyback in kind of showing NG adverts.

If you will add adverts I wish you will share profits with NG.

Another thing related to my previos text in this message - NG now use CDN CloudFlare, and it add protection, also for such strange activity like hotlinking - it is what you will do if your app will not use your own server with copy of NG music.

We haven't determined whether ads will be displayed. I would rather have no ads, but the option is still open. The alternative is to release a limited version alongside a premium version with more features.

With links to the pages of the artists, I hope to make it convenient for users to visit and use the site, improving both the popularity of the site and the convenience of the pre-existing newgrounds community to listen to NGAP.

Using the audio portal to access music on android systems that don't support flash is time-consuming since it requires the user to download the track to play it. If possible, I want to eventually incorporate the ability to sign in and use newgrounds account capabilities (voting, commenting, etc.) without leaving the app. I will need to investigate with site management into whether that can be accomplished before working such features into the final application since administration might take issue with that.

Do you can suggest any else way to play NG music without downloading? Even games for web-browsers, what are "not need to download" still download many resourses, just this not so shown to players. Anything what not build-in inside App you need to download to use (aka "use internet connection to get data")
Flash, mp3, Android... Do you know NG already have player for Audio Portal what automatically use not-a-Flash solution if browser do not support Flash? No support of Flash in Android is not a point to speak about here.

So you will be able to collect user authorisation information. Paranoics will be "happy".
