I did a balance transfer from a specific bank account to a new account at US Bank. They sent the balance transfer check to the wrong address (specifically, some address on the other side of the goddamn country) and someone (god knows who) ended up cashing the check. I verified with the original bank that they have no record of ever receiving a check. US Bank says it's not their problem because someone cashed it and how could it have been anyone but the correct bank if that's who's name was on the check.
I didn't feel like staying on the phone and telling the bunch of clowns that US Bank apparently employs how fraud works so now I'm relegated to having to wait 3 fucking weeks for them to process a "request" just to snail mail me a copy of the back of the original balance transfer check so I can do US Bank's fucking homework because they apparently feel that's not their job.
SO,fair warning. You may want to steer clear of these asshats. I've dealt with some real kinds of fuckery from big banks before but this was a LOT of money that they allowed to disappear into someone else's hands while acting like everything is all peachy on their end.
Keep giving us your money goy, Yes, when you give all your money to someone else it's still yours, keep telling yourself that. That paper you get as a "proof" of this money being yours is no way to be neglected.
Can you spare a moment
to talk about joining a federal credit union?

I have an account with a credit union and I have to say that they have been fucking AWESOME. Free coffee, gorgeous buildings, zero problems (historically) and some of the most helpful people I have ever seen honestly. Guess I'll have to swear off big banks for good, just took this last straw to break the camel's back.

I'm with U.S. Bank (since early April). I've had decent experiences with them, so far. I wanted to join a credit union, but there are none nearby (that I know of).
