Good news, I will technically have beachfront property soon!
Our children are so fucked.
The earth was built to be an oven for itself, i think it's laughable that glaciers will "collapse" - like heat doesn't fucking affect the inside of a giant ice cube unless the human flame has been sleeping in the middle of the glaciers for thousands of years.
alright, that's my opinion, not fact (just stating)

Holy shit. You're like a brand new species of drug addled retard.
Please tell us (uh, State) more about how the scientists are wrong about "human flames" or whatever.

Okay, "profanity"
The ice glaciers were meant to fucking melt, and humans do not outsource enough heat in general to actually cause more than a fractional amount of melting to ice glaciers compared to active volcanoes in and under the water
Fuck off, come back with a real question for me

Really? Volcanoes all around the world are activating simultaneously underneath of all the glaciers on the planet? It has nothing to do with climate change and increases in global temperature?

no what i'm fucking saying is that the earth gets to decide when it's going to become a greenhouse asshole and there's not jack shit humans can do about it

No ice cream for you. It doesn't count as a link if you don't understand it.
Here's a Dot Gov link:
NASA - Consensus: 97% of climate scientists agree
The cool thing about that one is that it's not a single author blog (your Iceland Glacier blog is), it cites not only 3 sources representing the research of publishing groups, but 11 different research societies staffed by PhDs representing tens of thousands of scientists. Oh, and a composed statement from 18 scientific associations. All of those scientists conbined each have the ability to publish to 97% of the world's *.gov and *.edu sites.
Good luck trying to convince any sober individual with an IQ above 90 that the "[…]earth gets to decide when it's going to become a greenhouse asshole[…]".

Simmer down Sammy. Let's play nice. Here is an article about glaciers melting that involves no known volcanic activity.
"Things that normally happen in geologic time are happening during the span of a human lifetime," says Fagre. "It's like watching the Statue of Liberty melt."
"Scientists who assess the planet's health see indisputable evidence that Earth has been getting warmer, in some cases rapidly. Most believe that human activity, in particular the burning of fossil fuels and the resulting buildup of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, have influenced this warming trend."
Humans create carbon dioxide, carbon dioxide influences climate change. Right now the Earth should be in a cooling period. Instead we're seeing freakish rises in temperature. I wonder why?
Even the article you linked to states that "In 1890, the overall glacier coverage of Iceland was at its highest since the end of the Ice Age. Since then, as global temperatures have begun to climb, Iceland’s glaciers have retreated, with a few periods of advance during cooler climate periods, but at a fast rate, particularly during the last two decades."
It clearly states that the Iceland's glacial retreat is caused, at least in part, by rising global temperatures.

You're entitled to your opinion. You're given the right to exercise free speech and to share the opinions you hold in your free society. You're reminded of this during school: you're allowed to be loud and wrong.
That doesn't make you worth listening to, however. And it makes realists like me righteously angry to see people going around the internet spouting obscenely ignorant hippie misinformation that they came up with the last time they took a bong rip, feeling entitled to do so because "it's just my opinion, dude!"
Fix your stupid opinion or you're going to get kicked to the curb for the rest of your life.

Pretty sure that the amount of antarctic sea ice has increased.

Skeptic arguments that Antarctica is gaining ice frequently hinge on an error of omission, namely ignoring the difference between land ice and sea ice.

What about Archimedes law? If you have an ice cube in a glass of water, it suspends the liquid. If the ice cube melts, the level of water stays the same, doesn't it? Now, imagine the world as the glass of water and the ice cube as the polar ice caps.

True Sea Ice =/= Land Ice...
but...
The sea is salt water....
In order for more sea ice to form, the sea must actually be colder than it was before, not just get some more water from melted ice on land.
Melted land ice would have to be cooled to form sea ice, since it is
1 below normal freezing point.
2 must achieve a lower-than-normal freezing point to remain frozen in a salt-based environment.

Sorry
1 should have been
*ABOVE normal freezing point

Why is Antarctic sea ice increasing? The implicit assumption is it must be cooling around Antarctica. This is decidedly not the case. In fact, the Southern Ocean has been warming faster than the rest of the world's oceans. Globally from 1955 to 1995, oceans have been warming at 0.1°C per decade. In contrast, the Southern Ocean has been warming at 0.17°C per decade. Not only is the Southern Ocean warming, it is warming faster than the global trend.
If the Southern Ocean is warming, why is Antarctic sea ice increasing? There are several contributing factors. One is the drop in ozone levels over Antarctica. The hole in the ozone layer above the South Pole has caused cooling in the stratosphere. This strengthens the cyclonic winds that circle the Antarctic continent. The wind pushes sea ice around, creating areas of open water known as polynyas. More polynyas lead to increased sea ice production.
Another contributor is changes in ocean circulation. The Southern Ocean consists of a layer of cold water near the surface and a layer of warmer water below. Water from the warmer layer rises up to the surface, melting sea ice. However, as air temperatures warm, the amount of rain and snowfall also increases. This freshens the surface waters, leading to a surface layer less dense than the saltier, warmer water below. The layers become more stratified and mix less. Less heat is transported upwards from the deeper, warmer layer. Hence less sea ice is melted. An increase in melting of Antarctic land ice will also contribute to the increased sea ice production.
Antarctic sea ice is a complex and unique phenomenon. The simplistic interpretation that it must be cooling around Antarctica is decidedly not the case. Warming is happening - how it affects specific regions is complicated.

Ironically, as arctic ice continues to melt, less heat is reflected from the arctic and as a result the temperature in the arctic rises more rapidly.
Jet streams flowing around the northern region slows down because the temperature gradient, which drives the airflow, decreases with time. Cold air near the North Pole is no longer trapped if the jet streams are weak, leading to more severe cold surge in winter.
It is suggested that the melting ice changes the ocean temperature, and this will have impact on climate. The configuration of high pressure ridge may change, and storms may follow more unusual paths. There are also other possible effects as well. Sea level will rise and cause more severe floods.

Politically correct is anything that leftists believe.Politically incorrect is anything common sense. IMPEACH OBAMA.
Do you honestly believe in global warming? Do you know, that there was an Ice sheet covering whole Scandinavia, baltic and cental Europe? Thrice? Thousands if not millions of years before human started the infamous extraordinary emission of CO2 to the atmosphere? It formed itself, and then it just melted. It's gone. It formed and melted itself because Earth is periodically getting warmer and colder along with the time. We're not the cause of global warming. Sun is. Now, the rest of the sheets are going to melt, we're going to have a lot warmer climate for some time, and then, perhaps after few hundred years, perhaps after thousands - it will get colder.
Besides, noone's going to get flooded because of the melting ice sheets. The icy poles are melting in huge proportions, everyday. Yet for example, the baltic sea is actually lowering itself, instead of raising. The hotter it is, the more water evaporates. We're just going to have more, and more frequent rains. Don't shit your pants.
