It all depends on the writer. A good writer can make shitty characters great.

I agree. Thing is, I feel like comics are particularly difficult to write. Superhero comics are very much in a box, so it's hard to do awesome or innovative things with that formula. You really have to know how to write CHARACTERS instead of plot. The plot of superhero books is almost always the same, but it takes a great writer to take that plot and inject it with characters and ideas that are thought provoking and interesting.
A great writer can put Batman on the same level as Hamlet. A good writer can make you really care about or relate to Superman.

The Justice League actually made me like many of the superheroes, I originally didn't like Superman due to him just being a total marysue but The Justice League is a very rare breed of super hero amalgamating show which actually works, and as such it is really good. Of course Batman is still best, but Flash, Superman, Green Lantern etc. working alongside him makes it even better. Even to characters I really don't like like Wonderwoman again it works in that show so I can't not like her in it.

thats true i was a spider man kid growing up but when the justice league cartoon came out i started to like dc heros (up untill that point i only ever watched batman or spider man i dident even know what the crap a "superman" was. i think the biggest draw to justice league was that they dont only fight the villens of its members but origanal ones to that are planned out and good. alot of other super teams just fight there members villens and when they get an origanal villen he is badly planed out and makes no sense with motavation or a very lame one as to why he is doing his plan.
and yes superman is way to much of a mary sue solo in his "adventures" they might as well swap him out with PAUL THE MAN WITH A FIX EVERY THING BUTTON i dont think people would notice to much of a difference .
