OK, So I did something bad today, I punched my best friend in the jaw mostly by accident anyways. He was always the type to try and roughhouse like a lot, and he does it by putting his fists up and tries to smack my head a few times and sometimes I fall to the ground to see if he'll stop but sometimes he doesn't. I've told him chill and tell him I don't like it but he says he's just playing. This would be alright if he did this once every so often because boys like to roughhouse, but he's been doing this so much and it's really annoying and I feel like sometimes I can't go near him when he gets into this aggressive type of state. So today he did a few times and then when he was about to do it again I lunged at him quickly because he tends to back away a lot when I try to get him back but I went so much faster than I was trying to get him at and all I saw was him covering his mouth and running into his house and his mother was helping washing it out. It was supposedly bent back a little, but I'm not sure how bad it really was. I said sorry to him so many times, his parents were actually a little proud of me for finally standing up to him, but he was really upset, he said he would get me back and I won't know when.
I know he might have deserved, and everyone else seems to think so too in a way or understand why I did what I did, but I just feel like such a horrible person even though I didn't want this to happen at all. In the past when he hit me it was in the bad of my head, but I did something that might have hurt his tooth permanently. I know some people wouldn't think this is that bad, but I'm the type of person who immediately regrets his actions especially since he's my friend and all.
I want to know, am I a bad person? what should I do to make it all up to him? thanks for reading my story.

I have have a cousin who always liked to wrestle with me when we were younger. If i won too often he starting taking things seriously. One day we both gave each other concussions. But we still hung out after that. If me and him got over you're friend should forgive you too.
You shouldn't even feel bad. His tooth will be fine.

I don't think you did anything wrong. If someone physically imposes themselves on you and you retaliate (especially after fair warning) then it's their fault. I mean really, what did he expect? You were being physically assaulted, so you stood up for yourself.
You don't need to make it up to him, he needs to make it up to you for going too far all the time. This is a lesson he needs to learn about how not everyone likes to horseplay, just as you can learn the lesson that there are times it's okay to fight back.

lol oh wow, yeah, I think I need to give him time to cool off. I also feel bad because he's younger than me, although he's slightly taller than me.

Don't consider it an accident. Your friend got what he deserved. If he knows being aggressive and putting his hands to yoJr face like that, and so often pisses you off, he should have known better.
Now he got a taste of his own medicine, and the fact his own mother seems to be on your side should let you know you didn't do wrong. Had you never punched him like that he probably would never stop.
Now after this happened if he starts going after you again, than just call off the friendship. Who would want to be friends with someone who can't keep their hands to themselves.

Sometimes, friends just need to duke it out man-to-man.

yeah, I know, I'm just worried this might do the opposite and will just give him more incentive to get me back, he's still a teenager so I guess it's just all that hormonal aggression I guess.

that was suppose to be a joke also there are many ways to get beer under 21.
but from the way things sound from your story your friend kinda deserves it if he knew it makes you mad like that.
what i would do is just chill for a little bit and then try talking and patching things up.

Well I've been there before. If that is the way things turn out you'll just have to fight back again. Prove to him that you're not a pushover, and if you still want to be friends after that you'll have to wait for him to cool off again.
You can't let anyone walk all over you not even friends.

All of this. I myself don't like roughhousing from friends but they know to back off when they start to see me getting pissed off from it.

Brutally murder his entire family and say "see? that thing with your tooth wasn't so bad".
