Consistant Transparancy? 2014-04-21 16:51:44 Reply

I've been messing with this for a while and can't seem to work it out. I want my translucent objects to look http://i.gyazo.com/d428f49af8076fadcbd26d47bc5fba97.pngthis not
this.

Initially i had assumed it was added in postprocessing in After effects and animated separately, but the artist assures me it was all done in Flash, despite previously refusing to explain the trick to another asker. I'm having trouble finding an answer.

It looks like you are changing the alpha in separate graphics / movie clips, what you need to do is break the character down into a single movie clip and then change the alpha on that

or, if you are using flash 8 or above, you could convert the whole thing under properties>colors>alpha or maybe under properties>blend>then whatever works....

also, adding the glow filter could also help ahieve the affect you are going for.

FYI it has to be a movieclip to do the blend, and either a movieclip or a graphic for the color property.

Any messing with alpha meant all nested symbols changed alpha. The glow trick worked though, even at 0% strength. Thanks!

What a roundabout way to do it.
