Sound goes out if I move speaker and sometimes I hear scratchyness. Do I have everything connected properly? Looking for people that know how to connect the proper sound parts to a computer, and not smart-asses.

All you do is plug the 3.5mm plug into the jack. How could you have fucked that up?

What jack and what 3.5mm plug? I only have 3 or 4 plugs that I can put into the my computer. My speakers might not have this one plug you talk about.

3.5mm is standard. Pretty much anything that outputs audio uses it. The motherboard and the speakers you have use 3.5mm.

Looks the same as mine.
The "scratchyness" is probably a problem with your speakers themselves and not how they're hooked up. Mine do the same. Are they cheap speakers or something?

Logitech 5.1 speakers which I probably bout for 80 bucks or 90 bucks back in 2003-2004.

If you're losing sound and getting it back just by moving a speaker, that sounds like a bent wire.

Recommend some that are good and less than 100 bucks and 5.1 sound. I don't believe they sell ones that cheap anymore for 5.1 sound.

Yeah, it's absolutely the wire.

I've had this problem with pretty much every set of computer speakers I've ever purchased. After a while, the wiring gets fucked up unless you maintain them well and they weren't cheap parts to begin with.

You can try taking them apart and securing the wire (as the break/bend is most likely on the inside) or, as was suggested, invest in some modern speakers.

I just decided that I need a signature.

I have no idea what kinds of speakers are good. The only speakers I have are cheap 10 dollar pieces of shit that I use to get stereo sound out of my old ass mono CRT TV which is used for pre-HD gaming. I use my computer monitor for HD gaming. The lag is too much on my HDTV.

I only use headphones because I prefer them to speakers. This is what I use.

Dunno, but I figure they have to have made some improvements to them in the last decade. Plus they'll be new and not worn out like yours.

Nice n easy for you here

Connecting speakers correctly
http://digitalunite.com/guides/tv-video/getting-set-online-viewing/how-connect-speakers-computer

Scratchy sounds or fading sounds
Connect any of the 3 cables to a different audio device and play something
Black will be your bass and will hear rumbling coming out of anything coming from a bass drive
The other 2 wires are your L and R (left and right) cables and they accordingly go to the centre speaker and then branch out from there...
If the same result is happening then get new speakers after you make sure of the wires
If it is not then there is a power problem with your audio card or the card it self is starting to fail and the speakers are picking up on that fact...
Possible but doubtful

Best guess... You bought logitec speakers and are expecting them to work past their natural life span
