Learning to Flip Someone Off 2014-03-12 18:43:20 Reply

So, I was bored as heck one day at lunch in 2nd grade. I decided to try to stick each of my fingers up in turn, one at a time, in order to amuse myself. I figured out that it's really hard to stick up my left-hand ring finger by itself. Anyway, when I stuck up my middle finger, unaware of the implications, a kid sitting across the table from me thought I was trying to flip him off. "Hey, you! Why are you giving me the middle finger?" he yelled. "Don't you know that's BAD?!" Next thing I knew, I was surrounded by a group of angry kids bigger than I was, and the impending "fight" had to be broken up by lunch monitors. The whole time, I was repeatedly screaming, "I didn't know it! I'm sorry!" So...what are the wacky ways you learned about the middle finger / other swear words, Newgrounds? :D

I think my mom inadvertently taught it to me at some point when we were driving.

With todays media and social interactions the learning age of remedially obscenities is around the age of 6.
Rewind the years clock 50+ the learning age would have been around the age of 10 just through word of mouth

We learn from the internet, or from friends, or overhear the words when we enter school and walk by the seniors and see how they react to the words of others
