Have any of you guys had either the Hungry Man or Stouffer's so-called "veal" parmigiana TV dinners. I'm eating a Stouffer's one right now.
This shit is clearly chicken. Why do they lie? Why not just label it "chicken parmigiana"?
Am I wrong? Is this not definitely breaded chicken?

the thought of frozen veal is really upsetting
although the thought of eating any tv dinner is pretty saddening in itself

haha. I actually quite like a lot of TV dinners. Amy's and Bertolli are among the best. And as I mentioned Stouffer's and Hungry Man, the Hungry Man boneless chicken and mashed potatoes is good, and most of the Stouffer's stuff is good, especially the lasagna. Some TV dinners are pretty bad, though. The worst TV dinner I've ever had was the Banquet "turkey meal". The turkey and "stuffing" is just two cold cuts and some soggy croutons in nasty gravy. And the mashed potatoes are like grits.

Veal is so precious to me that I go to an actually butcher or slaughter house to get it and prepare everything myself. I WOULD NEVER let anyone cook it for me. No restaurants, no family or friends, NO FUCKING TV DINNERS. Just me. Only me. Veal, goat, and lamb are so beautiful in taste, it better than any other meat in my opinion. Older cow can just be deemed the hamburger animal and let it be that. Fuck anything else.

Yeah, I get that stuff a lot. I also like the lasagna, potatoes au gratin, panini, and flatbread melt.

I've never had goat, but I loooove lamb. My grandma used to make it all the time. Seafood is the best of all, though, IMO. I've only had veal once, which was when I was a kid, and I thought it was incredible. But then I found out what it was and it makes me too sad to eat it. Kinda hypocritical of me since the other animals we eat are treated poorly, too, but at least they're not babies.

Oh, come on. A good marinated steak cooked medium-well on a charcoal grill is amazing.

i don't think i've ate any since i was a kid back when they had the blue ones with the penguin on the box
those sucked and the brownies would always leave a thick crust on the black plastic tray
if i'm really pressed for time and effort, i'd rather just have a cold sandwich or something

Yo could just look at the ingredients list on the box. Looks like it actually is veal. Stouffer's as well. I'm sure a lot of the flavor has been heartlessly sucked out in the process of making it mass-producible and endlessly preservable. To be fair though I doubt you were expecting gourmet food. Hell, the name of the Hungry Man meals pretty much implies that the only reason anyone is eating it is because their immediate desire for sustenance has overridden their desire for a well-prepared meal.

All Banquet food is nasty, especially their chicken nuggets. Those things don't taste right at all to me. Just don't try their salisbury steak TV dinner, that one made me sick.

I always put that on a subroll and have a thanksgiving sandwich. Then it is better.

haha Of course not, but I swear this stuff is ground chicken. They have to be lying about the ingredients. It's not that good, either. The boneless chicken and mashed potatoes Hungry Man is way better.

I mostly agree, but the rigatoni and sausage one isn't bad. I've heated up a lot of Banquet stuff for my niece and am kinda put off by a lot of it. The pizza one is like a nasty pop tart, and that's coming from someone who likes ham and cheese hot pockets.

Cheap, bland meat that's been breaded and fried is bound to taste like chicken I guess. What do the ingredients say?
I'd rather cook myself either way.

I like to cook, too, but I rarely do that more than once a week. Last week, I made pork chops.

Veal and steak are meats you can't be cheap about.
You look nice today.

Why would you ever buy TV-dinner veal in the first place?
That's like having your fillet mignon well done, or making Kobe beef into hamburgers.
And don't even get me started on people who have ketchup with steak.

If you bring me my steak medium rare, you better take it back into the kitchen and actually finish cooking it. Also, use a cut better suited for marinating.

I haven't had Kid Cuisine since I was of one digit age. I ate the macaroni and cheese one a lot, though. But Kraft macaroni and cheese was always the best as a kid. I was gross and put ketchup on it.

now that we're on nostalgia lane again, do you remember the whole green ketchup phase in the early 2000's? that was the first experience i had with ketchup and i've never touched the stuff since

haha Oh god, yeah, I remember that and purple ketchup, too. I never had it, though. That was around when they came out with jelly and peanut butter in one squeeze bottle. Such dumb products. That was the only time you ever had ketchup? Man, ketchup is so good on a burger and fries, though. I actually used to mess with food coring when I was a kid. I remember having green milk and green tuna.
