At this point, being hit by a train is almost an impressive feat

OK, you CLEARLY do not understand how parenting works.
For one, how old was he?
Also, CHILDREN CAN RUN OFF WITHOUT PERMISSION OR SUPERVISION AND GET HURT!
If you think the parents should have "big brothered" him for the whole entirety of his life until he turned 18/21/dead, or whatever, then you DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT PARENTING MEANS.
I've done some DUMB shit as a young child and, luckily, nobody got hurt, but they WELL COULD HAVE, because the nature of a 6-to-well... let's say 18 year old is to push the limits and boundaries of what is acceptable and find out what will do more harm than good so they can play with the boundary.
So FUCK YOU if you think the parents are to blame. Seriously. What the fuck kind of a lame, ignoramus argument...
No, I will justify you no further.
Fuck you.
Those parents are GRIEVING a DEAD CHILD and all you can do is say "Well, it's THEIR FAULT their kid died because he, along with other kids, left alone to play, made a stupid choice..."
Seriously, fuck off. You are not the parents of a DEAD CHILD and for the god's loving sake I hope you will never be, but please, don't EVER be so insensitive as to blame something so tragically circumstantial on parents who would probably never have allowed such a thing to even be POSSIBLE were they present and aware of the situation...

Wow I forgot trains even existed. When's the last time someone got hit by a train, 1882?
It's not THEIR fault for his death, I was saying would you be a little bit concerned what they are doing at night time? It wasn't their fault at all. Even if it was a bike ride, I would want to know exactly where my child was going.
ButtCheeks.
Playing near a train is a bad idea at any age, at least I never had the temptation to do so while growing up. To be fair, I live near a train and see/ hear them everyday so their dangers are readily apparent, but you would think that seeing a multi-ton high speed monster coming at you would be a deterrent rather than a challenge.
One less kid to deal with. Perhaps in life they were good at some things, maybe even intelligent, but now they will only be remembered as some retarded that was doing stupid shit, and I don't feel the least bit sorry for them.

Then reread, edit and think about your posts more carefully before you publish them.
I almost (almost lol) always proofread my posts, generally twice.
Your original statement basically said "how could the parents not have wanted to know what was going on?"
Which, incidentally, even though you say, in your defense, that they "of course would want to know," you do not account for the fact that CHILDREN ARE INTELLIGENT ENOUGH TO ESCAPE NOTICE SOMETIMES, and, as it were, THEY CAN, OF THEIR OWN ACCORD, GET HURT, DESPITE THE BEST INTENTIONS AND MEASURES OF THE MOST LOVING PARENTS.
So I'm sorry if you worded your post poorly, but you must think more thoroughly, clearly and with more depth about what you say. Because sometimes (and I'm not fully convinced you weren't blaming the parents and aren't just trying to syntactically defend yourself against me because you see that my command of language is thorough), you just say something stupid.
I will admit when I am wrong, if it can be shown that I am wrong.
It took me much longer to be honest and open about my motives and emotions than to just be conciliatory about concepts which could be shown to be incongruent with my claims...
Let's celebrate life, mourn a tragedy, and allow our hearts to be with the parents.
Not, as it were, fight about stupid, silly, opinionated shit about how and why and what some unfortunate kid accidentally died...
And no, I don't hate or dislike you, I just think you were/are being kind of insensitive about something very truly and deeply hurtful.

The former CEO of Metra got hit by a train in 2010, but that was on purpose.

I would expect to find something small in the newspaper at the very least

Very sad to say the least. Unfortunately, parents can't always keep track of their children. I was a wild one as I seem to recall. Running around the neighborhood without shoes til 8 pm having my parents freak out and send my siblings to look for me. I was just literally out the door the moment I got home from school.
here's a jolly reply:
I witnessed someone get hit by a train once..
Late Night Lounge--
I just wanted to leave, you know, my apartment. Maybe meet a nice girl. And now I’ve got to die for it!
it would of been much much worse for the train driver to experience that he's the one that's going to be mentally scarred for the rest of his life. he's the one who's going to wake up with flashbacks of the boy getting hit.
not to mention how they're gonna get the body off the track that's bloody nasty business.

Train deaths/suicides are way too prevalent for the newspaper to cover it.
I'm probably going to sound like an asshole for saying this, but did that kid seriously think it was perfectly safe to play near a train?
"This signature sucks!"
-Everybody when looking at my signature
I watched a video on liveleaks where a baby was on the railroad tracks when a train was in station and got flattened by the trains wheels.

I met someone who died getting hit by a train like a week later, but she was intentionally trying to die.

It actually happens surprisingly often.

Where I was growing up, there was a "game" where kids would lie down between the rails, across these wooden panels and let the train run over them. They were never hurt, because nothing on the train was this low. Only theoritical danger they were exposed to was being peed or shat on by some train passanger. But still, the game was fucked up

He should've trained harder. Hehe... hrhmm... yeah.
RIP.
Its cool.
Now they know that their offspring have a tendency to jump in front of fast moving objects.
Those two parents are just two deep rollers. Their children are just going to roll all the way down into the front of a train. They should probably see other people.
