Flash Cs6 Animation Help!! 2014-03-08 10:33:53

Hey everyone,

Just signed up to newgrounds and working on my very first animation attempt in Flash CS6. I am following the tutorial content of "Draw with Jazza" from YouTube and I've hit a snag that I cannot seem to be able to figure out or find answers on Google.

I am animating a basic talking character in my scene.
Each piece of the character is a separate graphic: head, body, forearms, arms.
The head graphic is made up of: mouth, eyes, pupils, eyelids, eyebrows.
I've animated all of these elements within the head graphic to an audio track and it plays back great.

BUT . . . when I go to the main scene and hit play: the audio track plays back, but the animation I did on the head is not visible on my character?

Can anyone suggest where I might be going wrong or something I am missing?

When Jazza animated his face in this video he seems to just go from animating the head straight to the scene and it plays back the animation. I've linked to the specific part of his video here: http://youtu.be/T3l3txgnf_A?t=26m22s (what I am doing looks virtually identical to this).

Any help/guidance/suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Stevic

You need to have enough frames inside and outside of the graphic symbols to show the animation in them. Here's a link to two of my tutorials which shows how animating in graphic symbols works. Mainly, this tutorial shows how to do frame-by-frame animation, but you'll be able to find your answer in the tutorials. :3.:

Many thanks DARKRYAN! I will watch those tutorials as well.

Weirdly I woke up this morning and had an idea what it could be . . . Before I'd animated the elements to my character, I turned the character into a SYMBOL. This morning I broke apart the character, deleted the head and placed the head with the animation in it . . . Problem fixed!

Now onto animating the body =)
