Do you know any Darwin award-winning story and not mind of sharing?
My favorite one from that website.
Pretty sure I recall reading one where three guys climbed to the top of a bridge and mistook one of the cable wires as a bungee cord. Needless to say, he didn't die but I think his one leg was ripped off from how fast he fell.
Only other one of note I read was the guy who died by accidentally falling and hitting his head on a rock while cleaning out an elephant's area. The rock didn't kill him but the elephant taking a shit on him did.

I feel so terrible for laughing out loud at this. Poor guy was just doing his job...

That isn't really a darwin award it is just an unfortunate death caused by falling which then just happened to end with a cause of death being something people would laugh about, thus they decide to add it alongside deaths of people actually being idiotic.
I feel sorry for that person to be treated like that.
When this post hits 88 mph, you're going to see some serious friendship.

That wouldn't be an entry, unless he actually died

It was. You don't have to die to be listed. If it is something like this that should have killed you but you survived, it gets an honorary mention.

I think it is the one with people daring to shoot them selves (IDIOTS)

It's funny you should link to one about welding explosives, cuz this is the one I always think of when someone mentions the Darwin Awards.
You just found this website?
You need to hang around the internet more
I never really got the point of things like this and a thousand ways to die.
it's really mean and half of these didn't even have much stupidity in them, anybody could make these mistakes, but let's laugh at you dying anyway.

1000 Ways to Die always spiced it up by portraying the person in a negative light. Like they were an asshole, criminal, or just involved in something immoral. Whatever it takes to make you root against them. And what you said did happen in the show quite a bit.
I really hate the name "Darwin Awards". It seems like something obnoxious people watch to make themselves feel superior to others for doing nothing besides, well, not dying from a stupid mistake. Which could happen to anyone really.

I'm surprised to see that others on Newgrounds feel the same way about this. The discussion section on the darwin awards site is full of angst and future columbine's ranting about how the world is just like the movie 'idiocracy'.

Not really, I found it like 4-5 years ago. However I feel like sharing this is necessary.

I thought the section on laughter from the rules page was pretty funny.
Did the guy who wrote that honestly think that it made any sense or that it was a decent justification?

Damn, I thought they were already getting enough entries, without moving goal-posts. It was way funnier when the people died though.
Not saying death is humourour.
But when someone dies from doing something so ridiculously stupid, it's worthy of a giggle.
