Seeing that the store is going to close makes me feel really sad in the inside. Newgrounds was always a place for me to spend me free time and have fun! I have so many memories on this site and seeing the store close makes me feel as if the website will close! The sad part is that I have no extra money to spend on the store to buy anything :c GGWP Newgrounds Store.

The second poster is a bonus because we have a bunch and it helps protect the poster it rolls around. No need to make it up to us although supporter upgrades ARE pretty awesome. :)

I'm really sad to see the store closing. I know you guys are doing whatever it takes to stay afloat, but Newgrounds has mostly become a dumping site for crappy ad infested Chinese flash games. How many more months/years does this site have left in it? Something big has to change, Tom. This isn't going to last unless you evolve. I hope you guys come up with something great, because I've loved coming here over the years.

I didn't enjoy trying to browse the videos for the monthly voting and getting hit with a 30 second ad on each one. I suppose the days of the cartoon porn banners bringing in enough revenue are long gone. ;)

The problem there is that a lot of animators nowadays will only focus on sites that can generate a decent return, so we need to be competitive with YouTube or the pool of contributors will continue to shrink.

Same with games - a lot of devs move on to mobile and Steam. NG will keep evolving but as long as we continue to believe in the web, we'll only succeed if other people believe in the web too. A lot of game devs have given up on the web but I think that could change as everything else gets saturated. The big problem with NG is that our ongoing expenses were too big when these rapid shifts happened, so we've had to spend years unwinding things and optimizing other things to stay competitive.

If the rest of the web had gotten totally amazing these past few years I would feel like an even bigger failure, but the reality is I don't think the web HAS gotten better these past few years, so there is still plenty of opportunity for NG to be part of it being great again.
