No idea, but they do more than qualify for verification. Maybe @Tom should get onto Twitter and Google about it.

I didn't know Twitter needed verification now as well?

And about the Youtube thing. I don't think they keep their channel up to date seeing they're competition of each other. Maybe they just don't care. Maybe they're too busy. Maybe don't have a PR for social media.

You can only get verified if it's a company account, you're famous, or well known via other means. Verification isn't something that is open to the general public.
