Yeah, I was wondering why previously made games were listed there. I personally find these to be of higher quality than other game jams, because they took more time to make.

This is my first attempt to win a thingy for money so id have to ask:

-how do you guys judge these things? My best guess was that it would be how well the entries integrated the theme but in this case that idea is shot.

-In what different ways can that money be paid? Sounds greedy but I'm asking because I'm curious about the system, and not because I'm expecting to win.

Oh yeah, and I'm excited and making a thingy too.

I have a fair amount of games planned out and some art made for them. Just need to learn how to use Stencyl, but yeah, this sounds awesome!

Just downloaded the program. If it's as easy as it claims to be then I could have something remarkably stupid made for this jam. No promises.

Well, my time is very limited right now. I'm not expecting to win anything, but I might as well make something simple for this jam :p

Ps. Don't forget that there are a lot of musicians (probably artists too) on this site that are willing to help you if you want some cool tracks for your games ;)

Highest rated and most popular unless they have a reason to award someone else.

$500 of ng credit would be kind of a waste, especially since the store is closing in a few days. It probably gets added to your account like ad money or they send you the check directly.

nvm tho, doodled with it for like a bit more than a hour, maybe two.. and made some character animations that look pretty nice but the moment i try to create a scene and do something with it nothing happens no matter what i click, so i give up. ;l
animating/gamecreating isnt for me.

You should follow the crash course link that Tom posted beside it, that'll teach you the basics of making a scene and making your character able to move left, right and jump. It provides a sample file for you too so you can analyse it a bit and sort of reverse engineer it for your own purposes.

I already have my character able to move left right and jump and made animations for it (100% original even, didnt use any default stuff)

But no matter what i click in the make a scene screen nothing happens. :/

Judging will be based on simply trying to determine which games are the best of the bunch. Prize money can be paid via check or Paypal!

Use the contest as incentive to make a new one!

I just hope that Stencyl games exported for mobile will run more stable than Adobe Air. Right now I'm working on a game for mobile which I make with Adobe Air and it's a pain.. :(
