Front Page said Feb 27th was the last day to buy something (which just happens to be my pay day) but the title of this thread says that's when the store is closing. So is Feb 27th the last day to buy something or is it Feb 26th?

So I'm assuming Newgrounds wasn't making enough money from the shop.

Will Newgrounds be able to make enough money with just the on-site advertising and supporter upgrades to sustain itself then? Assuming the NG HQ office is sold. I hope the site will still be okay.

Tom Fulp, if you can pull this site through some economic hard times now, considering they're pretty much economic hard times for nearly everyone and not just you guys, and keep the site running some more years I'm sure it'll pay off in the long run.

I don't see Facebook or Youtube lasting in the long term but if you can pull through this recession Newgrounds has potential to last far longer than those kinds of sites ever could. It's far more valuable in terms of original content and usefulness. Just don't ever make the mistake of "selling out" to some big name corporation because you see how that tends to kill sites in the long run. I mean if it ever came to that I'd understand, but I just hope it doesn't.

That's my goal. The difficult thing these past years is that not only have we needed to shift faster than we've been able to, but we've also needed to shrink faster than we've been shrinking. The office isn't necessary to what NG offers the community.

This IS a big part of why I hesitate so much with the Pico Day parties, but we were at an extreme low point last year and went for it anyway and it ended up being a great time. My professional failings can't be an excuse for not getting everyone together.

I know it's kinda twisted when I say this but I feel really invigorating about closing the store and just focusing on digital. And while I've clung to the office, I'm feeling better and better about letting that go too. There were a lot of good times before we had all this bloat and overhead.
