Because the television shows they watch are starting to introduce bisexual and gay characters. Plus the LGBT movements full of loud 'strong' women tell the girls that being bisexual is the way to a freer society.

It seems like women in general have less of a stigma against homosexuality. Most guys, even if they're fine with gays, have a very strong aversion to doing anything ”gay”. Women seem to just not really care as much about that stuff, so they're more open to experimenting with the same sex. Nothing scientific here, just my observations.

Pretty sure its both sexes. Look at this site alone for the rocketing numbers in bisexual/gay users out there. You'll probably be surprised. In fact, its just all down to the ever growing acceptance (Russia not withstanding) of homosexuality. People, especially teenagers are more ok experimenting or admitting to feelings they might otherwise bury. Expect there to be more and more bisexuals in the future.
