Why are rainbows gay?

In 1978, San Francisco artist Gilbert Baker designed what is believed to be the first modern gay pride flag by combining eight stripes, each a different color with its own symbolism: pink for sex, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, blue for art, indigo for harmony, and violet for the human spirit.

They probably took out the "pink for sex" part b/c if you included "sex" in a gay rights movement conservatards would throw a bitchfit about gays indoctrinating kids into participating in gay orgies because everything sexual is automatically bad and inappropriate to any situation

Actually, it's because the flag makers were unable to simply make hot pink.
