Eminems latest album sucks?

I am a huge Eminem fan. But lately Eminem seems to be getting worse at his craft.He was just never the same after the Eminem Show...I suspect he was replaced him with a clone or a twin. Seriously its like his the record label is controlling his songs or something.It just doesn't sound the same like it used to.It's like he is dieing on the inside.Most of his lyrics seem bland or boring from his latest album.

Personally my favorite album is The Marshal Mathers LP (2000) . Not the crap in The Marshal Mathers LP 2.There are only like a couple of good songs in it that are worth listening to.While I could just keep on listening to MMLP (2000) all day long to every track on it, on the MMLP2(2013) I have to keep skipping tracks until I find one that's decent enough to listen to.

Anyone else have else have similar opinions or maybe different ones about Eminem.

Just like any album, there are some I could listen to forever, and some I'd only listen to once, say "that's nice" and never glance at again.

And yet you praise Lil' Wayne for his ''sophisticated and poetic'' lyrics? Don't get me wrong, i don't like both, but i just don't get what makes them so much different from each other. Care to elaborate?

I just mean that Eminems latest album is really nothing new.Because seriously...How much can you keep dissing on f*gs?

I enjoyed his earlier albums where slim shady dominated them and his comedic style of violence and how he could make great songs like Stan or Brain Damage that you could really listen to.Songs that you could just connect with.

The best song on MMLP2 is really Legacy if you ask me.Then Brainless.Then Rap God, Beautiful Pain and maybe one or two more.

For me Eminems best song of all time would be Lose Yourself.Then some other songs perhaps Drug Ballad or The Real Slim Shady.Recovery has a couple of good tracks.Most of them are good on with great lyrics.My favorite one from there was Almost Famous.

Really just my opinion. If you don't like it you can go and you know what yourself.

Here are two recent popular singles from each rapper. Amerika by Lil Wayne on the left and Rap God by Eminem on the right. Both are about the same topic ostensibly (their shockingness to the American public).

You might note the structural complexity of Wayne's verse, the skillful word play and clever puns, his political indictment of the imperialistic United States, his adherence to the song's overall theme of America, and the powerful metaphor of still being able to see butterflies in hell.

Now look at Eminem's verse. It's all over the place. Syllables just to rhyme. No sense of real meaning besides a bitter homophobia. It's hollow and artless.

It's pretty evident Wayne is the superior artist.

This is basically what I mean. Eminems songs don't really have any meaning anymore.He's just rapping to rap.Rhyming to rhyme.Take a look at some of the more hardcore/underground rappers like Immortal Technique (one of my favourite rappers) and take a listen to Dance with the Devil.Then listen to a random song on MMLP2. YouYou won't find the same meaning or message.Immortal Technique tries to convey a message with that song while Eminem is rapping nowadays just for the heck of it.Take a look at some of Eminems earlier songs.Stan for example shows how Eminem is dealing with his new found fame.Or Kim where he is dealing with how his wife cheated on him.Or Brain Damaged where he shows how he used to be bullied.Now look at the crap he just spits out nowadays.

Take a look at Immortal Technique.He tries to get his views across about racism, discrimination, capitalism, politics, wars and so on.What does Eminem do nowadays? Does any of his songs convey a message nowadays?Not really.Rap God is about how he is famous.Something all of us already know.He is repeating himself.Maybe not the words but he keeps conveying the same message nowadays.I'M FAMOUS.Seriously.The song Legacy for example quickly goes over his rise and how he is leaving a Legacy.The fame had basically destroyed him.He knows he made it.He knows no one will replace him for a couple of years.And so he isn't trying as hard as he used to.
Most/Some of you may not notice it but seriously listen to his earlier albums like The Eminem Show, MMLP (2000) and others.

That's what he's always done. His songs were never deep, I liked them because of their comedic value and maybe a bit of shock value (which contributed to the comedy). Also he had and still has mad rhyming skills

So, he used to rap about his life. I think we know enough about him already. They didn't have any meaning except for himself.

Eminem never did that with a few exceptions such as Mosh, Like Toy Soldiers, We As Americans (kinda). But as you said, these were made after he started what you consider to be his downfall (which I kinda agree).

He was a lot more homophobic back then. He even kinda says it in his song "Bad Guy" on how saying faggot a lot back then wasn't such a good idea (when he's being kidnapped by the son of Stan).

As you might have noticed, I actually liked his last album, I thought there was no way back from the bullshit that Relapse and Recovery were.

I agree, Eminems new material is garbage.

First of all, it's become very sterotypical. Verse -- some girl singing the chours -- verse, rinse, repeat.
It's like he doesn't know how to write his own hook anymore.

I think he needs to slow down too. It's like he tries to jam so many "rhyming words" together that you can't really follow what he's saying like you use to. I'm not against speed or anything... it's just, his old tracks where slower and the delivery was smoother.... there was a rhythme to it that was good on it's own and the awesome lyrics just made it all better.

I don't like the fact that he's rehashing his own ideas. Making sequals to previuos albums and such... plus, he's such a pussy. It's always "Whaa, I'm a recovering addict, whaaa". I mean, Good for him and all, but there are lots of recovering addicts out there and they don't have 14 bajillion dollars and an army of trained professionals to help them. His self rightious bitching and bragging is annoying.... especially to people like me, who aren't addicts and don't give a fuck. It's gets old. Sure, sing a song or two about it and then move on forever... do we really need album after album about this shit?

Sobriety takes away your edge too. He's not hating the industry anymore or making fun of pop culture. Now he is one of the people that he made fun of. I bought Encore and my first thought was "What, is this bitch retarded? Give me back my 16 dollars!"

If it wasn't "Eminem" I don't believe that his new album would have done so well. I think the name on the front helped move as many copies as it did.

All and all, the first Marshall Mathers LP was great. The Eminem show was just OK, Encore was complete and utter trash and he's never recovered from it.

I am a huge Eminem fan as well, and I mostly agree. It seems like he left his way of making music, and his new CD is mostly boring. There are some songs I really like, though, probably more than a couple. Yet, you are right, which really is a shame. I can also listen to his elder songs over and over again without getting close to tired of them, but with the new ones: nope.
He wasn't the same after The Eminem Show, but I still really do think Relapse, Recovery and Hell: The Sequence(with Bad Meets Evil) are good CDs.

Haven't listened much to Eminem but he seems like a sellout. Seems like most of his tracks are just hyping himself. That kind of stuff is fine if you need to submit a track to enter Clabtrap but it's not hard to find something meaningful, funny, or at least interesting to talk about.
