Why not program a little computer to mod the bbs at all times, 24 hours a day, and have it automatically remove spam threads (multiple threads made within a quick time frame) that can also flag and (or "quarantine" if no mods available at the time) certain accounts by looking for keywords that indicate obvious hate speech / flaming/ racism (in sentence form, to prevent false flags) and bring those to the attention of current online mods so they can quickly review them?
Perhaps later on it can be used by mods so they can program keywords to autoban certain problem accounts so as to prevent duplicate or spam accounts from working (Such as -example/username for a troll who always finishes his posts with a - followed by his username or a motto) or also to help monitor problem accounts which the RoboMod pc has associated too many flags with in the past.
Just an idea, I wouldn't mind helping make it come true though.
That would be perfect for a little bit but then it would probably start locking and deleting threads that didn't need to be locked or deleted and it would just be deleted itself.

No no, it wouldn't have permission to lock threads, and it would only delete if say a user were to make 3 threads in 1-2 minutes.

Oh, I suppose it could possibly work then.
Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic mod. He is... the Six Million Dollar mod.

REBUILD ...that means first a real mod has to be horrifically injured.
Also, we can also later upgrade RoboMod to avoid solitary and isolated "0 bombs" or "+5's" in the portal to help maintain and fairer voting system and prevent users with much voting power from abusing it.
It would then prevent the user who spammed 0's and/or 5's on everything in a persons account from voting for a couple of days.
To make sure it captures legitimate abuses of the voting system, It would only work if a single user were to spam vote 0 or 5 on all of a users material within a 20-30 minute time frame. (This way, stuff that actually is garbage and should be blammed and vice versa still gets blammed or praised, since it wouldn't affect just any individual flash/music/art or a flood of users voting on an authors material)
It'll be like a real life P-Bot.

I'll test it out on a dummy test website first, and if efficient enough, I'll PM one of the higher ups to see how this could be integrated into NG.
There's already a robomod that deletes spam post that's 720 hours old (which its the time the post will be out of reach to them).
Sounds like an interesting idea.
Though I feel like it'd end up backfiring and ban users that didn't do anything that'd cause them to be banned or delete/lock threads that it shouldn't have.

Nah. Let freedom ring. Without the dredges and wharfs the plazas and estates don't seem so nice.

Autobanning keywords is a terrible idea because it means that there will be no way to list off bannable phrases. And people already bitch about human mods taking their jobs so seriously. A mod script will ban users with such relentlessness that it will drive away the remaining userbase we have.
I can see that working. But I wouldn't like it to have any authorization on its own. Just saving threads that may need to be checked out by a real mod and notifying for any alerting keywords or activity by toxic users. Not a bad idea at all. I don't see hwy others are mocking.
Mods can't be online 24/7. A bot would really make moderation of this site better, only if used as a helpful tool for the mods though. Bots on their own can fuck up.

RoboMod can't ban users.
The only threads it can delete would be those made by a single user that uses up their thread creation cap within 1-2 minutes, and it can only temporarily lock those that contain a certain amount of keywords created withing a certain time frame (say, the first 7 hours, or 4 hours when NG activity is low, such as night time in the USA) since the thread was created.
If this feature proves problomatic in test runs, it can be reduced to simply flagging the thread to notify a mod.
Also, certain thread title phrases, such as "No Mods!"
Can be made to have a post limit before being auto locked, then flagged for review as soon as a mod gets online.
This'll use up less bandwith over time, as one spam thread wouldn't do much, but 100's of them over a year might use up what could have been an animation.
The forum has low traffic as it is, dickweed, no need to bring it down another notch.
Pretend not to care about anything, but be bothered by everything.
You may be fast on the roads but it's no use on the track.
