And Canadian ones too. Damn recruiters set a booth in the secondary school where my brother studies during the career fairs. They are annoying as fuck.

In England we do it in a good way, as my school had military training which was entirely optional for army, navy and airforce. You could join them and become a member who would wear the respective uniforms in school and have special training sessions and go on trips to develop them.
What I liked about this was it was never forced, it was maybe 5-10% of the students which joined up and they didn't push it on others who wouldn't be suitable. It was also very enjoyable and was a lot of fun and was a respectful position for those who took it up. At the same time this never meant you were forced to join the armed forces after school either, you could however use this experience to help join if you wanted to.
I myself didn't join as I wasn't suitable, but I did respect those that did. All secondary schools should have these type of military training rather than trying to force it on people as it makes it that much better for everyone involved.

It's just advertising. Advertising is always made to make the product look flawless so people buy into it. Think of it this way, either have some deceptive advertising or mandatory drafts.

There's a recruiting office nearby my school, so they're in very regularly.
I'm fine with them~ They never "approach" you with their recruiting attempts unless you've shown interest before.
The recruiters that come to our school are all really nice, and there are often alumni that joined the military that come in to hang out with them.
They're not "preying" on anybody~ People who hate the military will continue to give them angry glances from across the room, people who aren't interested in joining the military will just wave hello and go about their day, and people with interest will approach them and start asking questions.
The only recruiters here that are in any way shady are the Marine Corps recruiters. They're a bit more.. Competitive. They're also the only recruiters at the local office who REALLY go for the "our branch is better because we're us" thing.
