It's nothing more than a company's attempt at being PC. Move on.
We don't speak english. We speak American.
I am hilarious and you will quote everything I say.
"Man, fuck your logic." - HomicidialFrog
"Normal people. They're so fucking weird." - Xenomit
i have never been able to fathom any rational purpose to get angry at a rendition of a patriotic song and am pretty sure that it's another one of those things i can safely write off as "better to not care at all"
When ever you feel powerless, just remember this.

I do they taste so much better especially if you can find the ones that are made out of real sugar instead of artificial sweeteners.

Mexican coca-cola. Check the Mexican section of your local grocery store they probably have it.
amazing, isn't it? they seriously feel threatened by people speaking languages other than English. it's ridiculous how insecure they are.
plus this outrage is doubly stupid for three reasons
1. Coca Cola is an international company with its world headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
2. The Superbowl is broadcast internationally. Even in countries that block the commercials and substitute their own, lots of people go looking for the American commercials online....therefore,
3. You could look at this as a "Buy American" campaign, aimed at exporting/expanding American culture to international markets.
so I think we can conclude that those crying tears of rage at Coca-Cola for daring to acknowledge that English isn't the only language out there simply hate America.

With a lot of people, it's not anger that the commercial had other languages singing what was almost the national anthem, it's the fact that people are awkwardly trying to force multiculturalism.
Also, slightly on-topic, why is it considered a bad thing for people to be mono-lingual? Or, to not be very cultural for that matter?
I can speak English and Spanish and can clearly distinguish foreign languages, and I'm fairly cultured in that there are certain customs and traditions from multiple different cultures that I like to practice and observe, but I don't see why people always put down people who can only speak one language and generally don't care about culture. It kinda aggravates me when I see people complain about people shoving things down everyone's throats, then later on doing the same with their views on culture.

Dude, that was one hell of a run on sentence. I didn't watch Super Bowl or see the ad yet but I don't see the harm in the commercial. The ignorant and stupid are typically the loudest.

Well, we live in a world where things like the holocaust AND slavery happened.
In an attempt to avoid something as equally devastating to the world we are trying to abolish racism. Being mono-lingual isn't so bad but it's not opening any extra doors for your future. What people were most likely upset by is an American song being sung in different languages...it's the 'Murica mentality. These are the mouth breathers that get offended because it's "disrespectful to America."
Being multi-cultural or understanding multiple cultures other than your own reduces ignorant racism.
Only knowing your culture means you don't understand any others and people tend to fear and hate things they don't understand.

The world's largest food-related brand is once again capitalizing on sentiments of millions of Americans.
Hoo-Rah.
By the way, since when does Coca-Cola even need advertising? Who hasn't heard of Coca-Cola? If you haven't, please ask you doctor if they have any medication to treat your compulsive lying.

A lot of companies don't need advertising.
They do to kind of make you want that thing even though you are already aware of it's existence. Disney is famous the world over but if a family is planning a vacation, a single ad could be all it takes to be the place they go for the summer.
This commercial also features an interracial gay couple at a roller disco with their daughter (42 seconds on). It was a deliberate attempt by Coca Cola at representing every demographic they could fit into a 60 second spot after 5 seconds baiting the conservative Midwest with a short clip of some cowboy riding horseback. They showed a smiling old cowboy just a few seconds after the shock wore off.
Shit, this thing is a psychological work of art. They must have hired some brilliant consultants. The more I watch it and break it down, the more it seems like they want the conservative core to launch a boycott.
Just an 02er.
Step 1: make a commercial about the most well-known drink the world over, that has different languages and have an interracial gay couple with a daughter in a Super Bowl ad.
Step 2: have the ultra-conservative nut jobs cry foul for trying to reach more than one culture, and the liberals cry and say "ZOMG that's teh racists."
Step 3: ????
Step 4: PROFIT!!!
I dare say that Coca-cola has done their job, I tip my cap to them.
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.
Oh great another media shitstorm over what idiots on youtube have to say about something.
We can agree that its somewhat wrong that corporations aren't a great way to promote equality when their main interest is money.
But seriously, being racist is dumb.
Death cures a fool
I really don't understand the rage here.
"America The Beautiful was sung in different languages!"
Ok...
so...
where's the offensive part?
I don't see or hear anything anti-American.
Sounds more pro-American, if anything.
Skynet is upon us.
An ad praising and idealizing the country it is shown in, is not something people should debate on. Just another company using the patriotic feelings of some people to promote its products.
US is multicultural now. This ad may have shown a true image about USA, so people shouldn't really get mad about it ad call this a "balkanized America", because that's definitely not the case.
Here, there was also an ad praising my country and saying about how we can get past our problems as a nation and actually had left a very good impression on everyone and no one criticized it on the grounds of raw and unhealthy nationalism.
Both sides of the arguments are just dumb, IMO. Nothing overpraising or phony about this ad, from what I can judge at least. People should stop making problems out of their asses.
Wow, are some people this stupid?!
I got Tom to make a sig, bow down to me.
