So you're saying that noobs shouldn't read the rules? I'm making the point that our rules may be different from anything else they've experienced and using the old introduction thread rule as an example. I personally liked the rule because it made sure that noobs actually read the rules if they ever thought about coming back.

No, all I'm saying is that pointing out that he could have been banned in the past for making this thread is pretty pointless. Without the context you just provided it could have easily been interpreted as if he did something wrong, when he shouldn't be feeling that way.

I can see where you are coming from, but I believe that allowing them to get welcomed in a thread might give them a better initial impression than getting their thread locked/getting banned on their first try.
Damn, newgrounds changed a lot. Back in my days these threads were never allowed, and their OPs would usually get banned for this. Well, I guess this was for the best.
