Why all the hate on CoD?

I've noticed on Youtube and many forum websites that there is this relentless hate for CoD, but it seems as if the hate ddoesn't go towards the actual franchise itself, it normally spouts on the fanbase.
Why is this?

I guess most people just don't like the fanbase and rather than the games themselves. Personally, I'm just indifferent. I don't like the games but that doesn't mean I hate them, just that they're not for me. The fans I could care less about since I don't go looking for people that annoy me.

I could've sworn that there was a thread that was similar to this a while ago, whatever.
Call of Duty largely gets the hate because they are the most notable game franchise of this generation, but are accused of releasing the same game every year, despite the fact that it really isn't, and the main reason of yearly releases is because the fans wanted it. Speaking of fan bases, the critics are so quick to cast the aspersion that all of the online gamers are foul mouthed 13 year olds, but the problem is that they are in every other game played online other than COD, and they are generally the minority of gamers as a whole, and yet, we can't seem to understand that.
Instead of complaining about a franchise that you don't play or care about, play the games that you want to play, and let the COD fans play those games, it's not that hard to do.
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

People hate on the fanbase because of the way the fans brag about the game. I have seen a lot of people online that will stick things like this in your face:
"COD IS THE BEST EVERY OTHER GAME SUCKS"
and then they say a bunch of invalid points to why every other game sucks. Of course, call of duty isn't a bad game, but the little 10 year olds that are trying to prove themselves mature are really annoying. Some people just say the game sucks in general because they want to piss off the fans.
Im saying this from a neutral view because im not a fan of this game, but I don't hate it.

People hate on CoD because the part of the fanbase that sucks is usually the most vocal so they represent the whole fanbase. Also people hate the games because it is a crappy rehash of the previous title for 60 bucks which is ridiculous.

The few times that I've ever played online, I don't really hear too much of that at all, aside from the trolls, which we shouldn't be bothering about them in the first place. I literately don't know these people at all, and I don't care what they think or do, I just want to play the game.
and then they say a bunch of invalid points to why every other game sucks. Of course, call of duty isn't a bad game, but the little 10 year olds that are trying to prove themselves mature are really annoying. Some people just say the game sucks in general because they want to piss off the fans.
As I said before, the 10 year olds who somehow play this game online, (kind of hard to believe) are a extreme minority online. The good majority of online gamers are essentially high school to college age to begin with, and most of them are more mature than these 13 year olds these people keep talking about, yet you rarely, if ever hear from them. There are also the trolls who say this kind of stuff just to stir up the idiots here, and abstain any degree of serious thought.
All the more reason why there should be an official Call of Duty general thread, because there are so many opinions about the franchise, and every time that someone mentions COD in a thread that normally doesn't have anything to do with COD in the first place, the thread immediately gets derailed, and the idiots start to regurgitate the same stupid garbage that's been debunked over and over again.

I don't hate Call of Duty nor any video game in general, I just think that Call of Duty has been done over and over and over to the point where its one of those video gaming franchise that just need to take a rest as mentioned in this youtube video: ScrewAttack's Top 10 Franchises That should Die.
I can understand why that video mentioned such but in my own personal opinion I think some video gaming franchises like Call of Duty & Final Fantasy (even if it means Final Fantasy gets bought out by Mistwalker should Square Enix goes bankrupt) just need to take a break while certain other ones such as Halo as well as Kingdom Hearts as they need to shut down all together once those series come to an official close (such as Halo 6 & Kingdom Hearts III both serving as the final conclusions to the stories).

It's a considerably redundant and unremarkable series that makes billions yearly, and a majority of the online community consists of adolescents/immature teenagers - it's not too hard to see why many people dislike it.
What bothers me is people who intentionally scapegoat it just for the sake of scapegoating it (i.e. getting top comment on non-CoD gaming videos) - what's even worse is the people who still act as though hating CoD is an idiosyncrasy.

Besides the fanbase, they do the same thing with every game. CoD is so tedious and boring. You can usually see what's going to happen because all they really do is create new characters and make some new weapons that look cool to make you kind of think that the latest CoD game might be actually worth playing. Most of the storylines all end the same, the protagonist dies or the enemy dies or whatever. They're just milking it now for money and you can tell that they really don't care anymore. I wish game creators would realize when they should stop making a game series. They just can't compete with other war games anymore.

I think people hate the fans of COD and not the actual game itself. The main reason why COD fans are heavily despised is probably due to the way they constantly brag about the game. They go around boasting about how it's the best game ever and how "skilled" they are at it. Which can be annoying, especially because, COD fans think their achievements in the game mean something when it really doesn't mean shit in the real world, which unfortunately, is a place where COD players spend little to no time in.
On top of that, COD players also get the tendency to think that because they play a game that involves guns, shooting, killing, and explosions, that they know a thing or two about real war. COD tends to make its players think that war is just fun and games when in reality, it's the exact opposite of that.

um, have you read our posts? first of all you were the one who stated call of duty as the game you want us to discuss. secondly we aren't targeting it, we are targeting the kids who play the game, not the game itself.

I hate the fanbase because they are annoying prepubescent little shits or irritating teens. I hate the franchise because it's the same goddamn thing every year, and yet their fanbase buys every new fucking game for 60 dollars.

They're the fucking Madden of first person shooters. But the campaigns are usually decent fun. And I used to enjoy playing spec ops mode with friends.

The only CoD games I own are MW 1 and 2, and the only reason I got them was the campaigns. I was never interested in matches. But spec ops ended up being a big bonus. Before those games came out, I had rented CoD 3 for the campaign. And I rented it because I had played part of the CoD 2 campaign at a friend's house and enjoyed it.

Ok, let's be 100% honest here, how many actual 8 year olds play COD online? How about 10 year olds? If you're answer is the majority or even a close minority, you're dead wrong. Really, how many families play online on a regular basis, much less play CoD in general? Not very many, it's kind of hard to play online when you don't have it or put games away from a kid's hands, unless they just give them the games, but that's a different subject for a different day.
The majority of online gamers are much older than most of us think (attitude-wise varies) and yet we don't hear much from those guys, now do we? This is a case where the vocal minority is taking over our judgements and we make these assumptions because of this. In a way, you are perpetuating the stereotype that online gamers are all moronic young teenagers that only play one game and act like assholes online. Granted, there is a kernel of truth in that, but it's the same thing in every other medium, yet only in video games, we bitch and moan about this to this extent, why is that?

May I add: Think of it this way, there are only probably 10% bad Muslims out there, yet their actions badly degrade the name of Islam, making people assume that all Islamists are these suicidal bombers who care nothng more for anyone else., when in reality, most Muslims are only normal people like you and I.

CALL OF DUTY IS THE BEST GAME EVER! NO OTHER GAME CAN EVEN COMPARE TO IT!
Just kidding. hahaha
I enjoy playing Call of Duty, I haven't played CoD: Ghost though. It's just a fun game to play and almost everyone has it so you can play with your friends. I love hearing the 10 year olds complain, it makes me laugh hahaha.
