Lemke wouldn’t get into specifics about exactly what Black Tusk is creating. “Our portfolio plan will be it's not just one big : release, it's going to be multiple releases over time,” he said. “I think the fans will be super excited to get a sense of the : breadth of what we're planning. We've got massive plans for this franchise.”
Well there's more games i won't be buying.

Double post much?
I'm not really surprised that this would happen, they have been part of Microsoft since 2006 with the Xbox 360. Like any other game, I will wait until we get more details to make any judgment.
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

darkjam posted more info so I'm posting in this thread. The games were quite shit in my opinion so I don't care much but I did have a small amount of fun playing GOW2. Sad to see an IP loved by many be bought out even if I disliked it.

They weren't shit, sure GOW 1 is dated, but back then it changed the way third person shooters worked, GOW 2 is good, but GOW 3 is the best really, I think it should now be the standard for every third person shooter out there.

It's not like it's a bad thing. Plus every knows how to implement the Gears Of War formula into a new game, it's not that hard. Besides after Judgement it seriously needs a new turn if it wants to be a successful franchise. Halo 4 was good and the new guys stick to the formula. Why can't they do it?
Also a new plot would be nice and change of pace of multiplayer. In my opinion the multiplayer wasn't something everyone could easily pick up on and be engaged in automatically. If these guys do something unique and move a few stuff around for multiplayer I can see it being fun.

I had a ton of fun with gears 1 and 2. I played 3, but I didn't enjoy it as much. I'd partially attribute that to getting burned out on the series from playing so much 1 and 2. I wouldn't say GoW 1 feels dated at all except the graphics. It still feels great to play.

Considering all I've played is GOW 3 for the past 2 months GoW 1 felt dated, mainly because you would just die straight away when you reach low health and the wall clinging felt different for me to be honest.

The magnetic cover was a bit wonky, but the map design was excellent and the balancing was good. Using the lancer was actually viable instead of everyone shotgun rushing.

I don't know about you but I'm certain that the rifles are in their prime on Gears 3.

The retro lancer is alright, but has terrible spread. Chainsawing hasn't been a viable way to deal with people who use point blank shotguns since Gears 1 because any damage stuns you out of using the chainsaw. I guess my biggest gripe with Gears 3 is the map design. They just seem so uninspired compared to 1. IMO there's no original map as good as the maps from 1 and to a lesser extent, 2.

Retro is OP. The spread is good enough to easily hit anyone in the range of where the Gnasher is effective.

The good thing about the Lancer really isn't about the chainsaw. It's the stopping power couple with active reload power and a headshot damage multiplier. It's also easy to strafe around someone using shotgun with a Lancer.
Then there's the Hammerburst which doesn't decrease damage over range so from across the map you can get downed in eight shots, and most users have fast enough fingers to down you very quickly.

The chainsaw is only for surprise attacks really ,especially in GoW 3 mainly because one shotgun blast at that range and you're gone. Personally I think Gow 3 perfected pretty much everything except the maps, like you said, the best one if probably the Gow 1 remade one which I forgot the name of.

This news would be a lot more surprising if they bought God of War.
