Got my new keyboard

A Yamaha YPG-535

It has a full 88 keys, 500 preset voices plus room for another 1000 user installed voices, 233 preset beats, and 32 preset songs with room for a massive amount of user installed songs. It has a usb port that you can use to generate MIDI files and communicate other information with a computer, and an auxiliary jack that can be used for a wide variety of stuff.

All that, and it was only 500 dollars plus tax.

I can play most of the songs from Halo 3, other than that I don't know any songs. I've learned how to improvise pretty well over the years, though.

Yeah, the keys are weighted pretty decently. There's also a pitch bend, which is pretty cool when playing accoustic instruments on it.

1. That looks very similar to a keyboard someone I somewhat know has. He is like crazy good at playing keyboard, guitar, bass, drums, and a bunch of other instruments.

Don't turn up the brightness all the way on the control screen. Depending on the year of manufacture some Yamaha's have a pretty poor attrition rate, in terms of screen malfunctions.

I have a Yamaha keyboard myself and I've had to get the screen replaced twice already. Good thing I have lifetime warranty.
