How can you get caught for sexting?

I understand I made this thread in the politics forum, but I feel that this thread is more appropriate in the General forum anyway...

Anyways, I'm trying to do a lengthy report on sexting as a minor, and I would like to get some more info as to how you can get caught.
Are your text messages constantly being monitored by the phone company/NSA? Or what?

By being an idiot and not deleting your messages.

I believe that, depending on your provider, your parents can access those messages as well.

I've only heard of police and such being able to look through your texts if you're a drug dealer or somethin and they have a warrant.
