And on other statistics, it's more popular than miniclip, Kongregate, and Armor Games, but still more negative than those three sites.

ALSO, What the HECK happened between March and April of 2012?
In fact, what occurs in March in general? Since 2010, March is associated with a decrease in popularity of Newgrounds.

Almost everyone I know is either indifferent to Newgrounds or thinks it's some kind of porn site.

If it is, it's a pretty bad one.

Maybe back when we actually had that section but now...
How do they determine whether the hit is positive or negative? It's not like there are a bunch of review sites where people are grading us... I'm wondering if they look for search results that mention the domain, and then look for positive and negative words in the page? I'm really curious about how they determine this sort of thing.
Here's something else weird... Those are the results for "Newgrounds", but if you search "Newgrounds.com", you get drastically different numbers:
8.4% Negative
87.8% Positive
3.8% Indifferent
"The Internet" is 82.6% positive about shit so I'd say it's full of shit.
If you use "salty" for anything other than salinity, I will instantly think less of you.
This food is salty. -- acceptable | Why are you salty at me? -- *facepalm*

As far as I remember it something like a search engine for the wanted keyword and some other keywords that imply dislike or like towards the searched term. Full of shit if you ask me.

Me Too. I'm guessing the reason there are different results for "Newgrounds" and "Newgrounds.com" is that maybe the latter only includes items included in the website itself while just "Newgrounds" includes everything, from news articles to controversies etc.
I do know they index their results though, and something has to have a certain amount of popularity to be indexed.
On the bright side though, Newgrounds is the most popular site of it's kind.

"The internet is absolutely negative about gay penis."
yeah right
AIDS 62.9% positive --- welp .. it's official ... The Internet has AIDS

But apparently not herpes
Most of the members are in the 15-18 age range. Most of them are from /b/ and such. Ergo, most of them have topics and conversations in forums that will disturb, offend, and repulse some people.(rape jokes, racist jokes and questions most people normally would be uncomfortable answering to.) Also, yall are WAY too honest about your personal lives.
That's assuming most of the negative reviews are related to the bbs. As for the homepage: couldn't tell you.
That answer your question?
I couldn't give less of a shit what the internet thinks of Newgrounds.

It would, if for some reason 4chan wasn't so positive
http://www.whatdoestheinternetthink.net/4chan
Maybe it decides based on what is said about the site and related terms itself?
If that's the case, I think the bbs alone would be what makes the results come out as negative.
I remember posting this link on the previous thread made about this site... Kids whining about their generation is definitely something internet is full of.

Interesting you say that. In that sense, this thing seems very accurate.
Also, if you start from the 2000's, each decade earlier becomes more and more positive.

It starts going down at the 60s, but stays positive until the 20s.
Huh
Maybe this thing does have some weight at being used as an internet analysis tool. If you use to for Yahoo, Bing, and Google, it brings up positivity in the order they ranked by usage, with Google in the Lead. Likewise, Tesla Motors is very positive, much like it's stock growth.
However, I think it has a favorable bias towards Microsoft...
This is a bullshit website.
Not nearly this many internet users are negative about Hitler.

Well they do get their results from bing, so that should be self explanatory.

So it's all a bunch of bullshit.
I got Tom to make a sig, bow down to me.
Since launching, this has sparked some discussion as to how it all works. Well, you can understand that I don’t want to disclose too much of the ‘algorithm’ of the site. However: basically it searches based on associative (so far just English) sentences. The given search term is used in these sentences which are then sent off to the search engine (prior to 2012 we used the three big ones: Yahoo, Google and Bing. Bing is the only one left as of 2012.), counting the amount of results returned. Sentences are double quoted before they are sent off, so as to make sure the search-engine searches for occurrences of the whole sentence.
This, of course, produces questionable results which should not be taken very seriously. However, the more results (hits) returned, the more reliable these results can become. Do a search for George Bush and then Barack Obama, and you’ll see that the internet is certainly not far off – or perhaps even in-sync – with the result you had in mind.
Not surprising, Newgrounds has been associated with hentai since it's launch.
This is a sig you dumbass.

Seems that should improve its rating though
Why would anyone hate Newgrounds? The content here is certainly more entertaining than a lot of shit on Youtube.
Try to enter newgrounds.com instead of just newgrounds, and the positives raise dramatically. Though, it's a bullshit website.

Over the years, NG has been given attention from the medias because of some abusive and/or violent submissions it hosted. Generally, this creates a negative image to someone who has never visited Newgrounds and doesn't know much about it, without being able to judge the site himself.
newgrounds is pure evil
