Trashy Facebook Ads

Man people complain about some of the ads they see on NG, but I'm seeing all sorts of boobs and underwear on Facebook right now. I know these ads are tailored to what they know about individuals, but I really don't browse sexy stuff or talk about sexy stuff, so I'm curious how these ads are targeted to me. Do you guys see stuff like this?

Facebook can be paid to show advertisments from specific people, and it just so happens that the porn industry pays Facebook more for advertising than any other industry.

This one time i went onto Facebook i got an ad for Diet Coke, DIET COKE! Repulsive...
Needless to say that was the last time i went onto Facebook.

At least Newgrounds' ads are of fictional fantasy MMO women drawings which is at least somewhat relevant considering there's probably some overlap between Newgrounds users and people who play MMOs. These lingerie models look more like something you'd expect out of Victoria's Secret. Are they trying to sell you bras Tom? Is that it?

Also I bet no one blames Facebook for these kind of ads, whereas Newgrounds would get fingers pointed at it. Either way, it's not straight-up porn so I don't see how it's that bad (drawn or real) because if you have to make money from ads, you can't be too picky or you'll drive off your advertisers.

I don't get it. If Facebook has a partnership with Google, why the fuck does Google+ exist and is shoved down everyone's throat that has a YouTube account?

They just exchange info, it doesn't even have to be official. Zuckerberg selling info to special forces sure wasn't.

If the adverts are bugging people, they could try out the mobile site for facebook from their desktop computer
I use it 'cause it's more clean and when I'm on my ooooold pc it just runs better but I also didn't get any ads whilst using it

I've since installed an adblock, though, so I'm not sure if it's still advertisement free, worth a shot!

I do know how it works BTW I'm just amused that one of the things that made sites like Facebook so appealing in their early days is they were free of ads / ads were minimal and tasteful, while NG looked all grimy with ads showing cleavage and whatnot.
