The politics of mobiIe video games?

As many of you are well aware, programming games for mobile platforms has radically shifted society over the past few years.

Video Games were once an anchored activity, relegated to basements and lounges with large TV Screens on a permanent set up. That changed as Cell Phones replaced Game Boys and pocket toys in the hands of schoolchildren and even politicians. Students admit to using cell phones to cheat on tests. John McCain has been caught trading hands of poker in Congress. Think Tanks have concluded that mobile games such as Candy Crush and Farmville have the potential to significantly diminish economic productivity as they distract workers from their work.

Consider the following:
• China, this year, has lifted a 14 year ban on gaming consoles, raising the demand for video games in one of the world's largest markets.
• The number of cell phones in the world will exceed the human population by 2015. It's already at 6 billion, while the population is at 7.09 billion
• The NSA has built backdoors into most of the devices which compose the infrastructure of the internet, and can hack into the camera and microphone of many devices when they need to.
• Video Games such as GTAV make billions of dollars explosively, and the repercussions of the Console War drives chip manufacturing
• Chip size decreases every year, making the diminishing dimensions of video game consoles a reality. Cell phones already emulate video game systems which were several cubic feet of hardware a decade ago, and this trend will continue until the best platforms are mobile.
• the Consumer Electronics Show has featured several "invisible" gaming displays, either glasses or contact lenses which are able to display a virtual environment for the user while remaining nearly invisible.
• Barack Obama has been criticized for using teleprompters instead of speaking candidly.
• Michael Bay was unable to finish his speech during CES because of teleprompter errors.

Where will this new fully mobile video gaming accessibility lead politics? If a potential politician is capable of parroting lines from a lengthy speech or using technology to seem like a better statesman, what will happen to democracy? How can we be sure that the man sitting behind the judge's podium is actually listening to the prosecutor's case, rather than getting a few more headshots in COD?

Just an 02er.
